An untact online concert

A healing space that comforts the heart

Comprehensive building-materials company EAGON, together with Germany's Württemberg Chamber Orchestra Heilbronn (hereinafter "WKO"), which this year celebrates its 60th anniversary, will hold the "31st Eagon Concert" online at 8 p.m. on November 7.

Now in its 31st year, the "Eagon Concert" is a free classical concert hosted by EAGON to share the emotional power of music with the local community. Beginning with an invited performance by the Czech Academia Wind Quintet held at the Eagon Industry factory in Incheon in 1990, the concert has presented world-class musicians every year, including classical guitarist Miloš Karadaglić and pianist Simone Dinnerstein, delivering performances of the highest caliber. In addition, last year the "EAGON Ensemble," comprising members of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra—one of the world's three great orchestras—visited Korea to celebrate the 30th Eagon Concert and concluded the performance to great acclaim.

The "Eagon Concert," praised each year for its distinguished stage, has cast Germany's prestigious chamber orchestra, the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra Heilbronn (hereinafter "WKO"), as this year's performer. WKO, which will take the stage, is one of the most acclaimed chamber orchestras in the world, and since its founding in 1960 it has built a reputation for its original and highly accomplished ensemble playing.

Characterized by its distinctively vibrant style and a differentiated orchestral sound, WKO performs a wide-ranging repertoire from classical works to 20th-century contemporary pieces, sharing a broad rapport with audiences.

The 31st Eagon Concert will open with Mozart's <Violin Concerto No. 5 in A major, KV219>, also known as the "Turkish" Concerto. Notably, in this piece, violinist Jiyoon Lee—the first female concertmaster of Germany's Staatskapelle Berlin, led by world-renowned conductor Daniel Barenboim—will perform as a guest soloist, drawing considerable attention. In the second half of the concert, Schoenberg's <Verklärte Nacht (Transfigured Night)>, one of WKO's signature works, will be performed.

The "31st Eagon Concert" will be held as an untact online concert. The performance will be broadcast live via the official Eagon Concert YouTube channel as well as "Arte TV," a channel specializing in arts and culture, allowing anyone to enjoy the top-quality performance comfortably and safely through TV, mobile, or PC. Detailed information about the concert broadcast can be found on the official Eagon Concert blog.

A concert official said, "Due to the effects of social distancing and the like, this marks the first untact concert in the 31-year history of the Eagon Concert," adding, "Although we are physically apart, we hope that the moving melodies conveyed with sincerity by the world's top performers will bring a little comfort and healing to hearts wearied by COVID-19."
