2,700 recipients supported in 2024 alone

Kiturami Group announced that its ‘2024 Kiturami Scholarship Program’ produced some 2,700 scholarship recipients across 40 local governments.
Beginning with a scholarship presentation ceremony in Hwasun County, South Jeolla Province in May 2024, the 2024 Kiturami Scholarship Program extended broad support to local governments across the country, concluding on December 20 in Gimhae, South Gyeongsang Province. A total of 2.9 billion won in scholarships was provided over the year to middle school, high school, and university students selected according to criteria such as low-income households and academic excellence.
The Kiturami Scholarship Program is a social contribution initiative with a 39-year tradition, launched in line with the talent-development philosophy of Choi Jin-min, founder and chairman of Kiturami Boiler. Keenly aware from the earliest days of the company of the importance of nurturing technical talent, Chairman Choi Jin-min contributed his personal assets in 1985—once the boiler business was firmly on track—to establish the Cheongmin Culture Foundation (now the Kiturami Culture Foundation) and immediately began the scholarship program.
Under the motto ‘guaranteeing a minimum level of education—educational opportunity must be equal for all,’ the program has produced 50,000 Kiturami scholarship recipients over the past 39 years, with cumulative funding reaching 35.9 billion won.
Chairman Choi Jin-min attended the Kiturami scholarship award ceremony in Gimhae to encourage the recipients and personally oversaw numerous scholarship events, demonstrating his unwavering interest and affection.
An official from Kiturami Group said, “We hope that the students who have received Kiturami scholarships will devote themselves to their studies in a better environment and unleash boundless potential throughout society,” adding, “Beyond the Kiturami Scholarship Program, we will continue to carry out a range of social contribution activities for nurturing talent, including academic research support projects aimed at strengthening competitiveness in the basic sciences and development-fund support projects for educational institutions.”
