‘Kyunghyang Housing Fair,’ a specialized exhibition for construction and architectural interiors, will be held consecutively in Seoul and Jeju this coming June.

The Seoul Kyunghyang Housing Fair, which kicks off the fair's first-half schedule, will run from June 4 to 7 at SETEC near Hangnyeoul Station, while the Jeju Kyunghyang Housing Fair will be held from the 25th to the 28th at ICC Jeju.

Comprising outstanding companies in a wide range of building materials, country homes, and interior design, the ‘Kyunghyang Housing Fair’ offers visitors a rich array of attractions by pairing the exhibition with special theme halls and professional seminars that reflect the key issues in the construction, architecture, and interior industries.

Since the fair tours the entire country, observing the differences between each region is one of the highlights of a visit. The Seoul Kyunghyang Housing Fair features a stronger presence of country-home-related items than other regions, along with a high proportion of full-scale model home exhibits. As the Jeju Kyunghyang Housing Fair is held in a region with strong winds, it features many windows-and-doors and insulation products. Befitting a tourist city, there is also high demand for materials and products suited to commercial spaces such as hotels and cafés.

The common exhibition categories span every field of building materials across 12 categories: interior and exterior finishes, structural materials, and insulation; water supply and sanitary materials; heating, cooling, and ventilation equipment; painting and waterproofing materials; landscaping and public facility materials; lighting and electrical equipment; home design and construction; home information and software; windows/doors and hardware; IoT and home security; construction tools and related equipment; and home interiors.

First held in 1986, the ‘Kyunghyang Housing Fair’ was Korea's first building expo. While it had been held in six regions nationwide, the exhibitions in February at KINTEX in Ilsan, in July at COEX in Seoul, and in September at BEXCO in Busan were renamed Korea Build. The exhibitions in Daegu, Gwangju, and Jeju continue under the original name. Buoyed by the support of visitors, the organizer Messe Esang Co., Ltd. is constructing an exhibition venue (Suwon Messe). Suwon Messe, scheduled for completion this coming July, will host the inaugural Suwon Kyunghyang Housing Fair.
