Samsung Electronics & Yuchang E&C

To Be Applied to Modular Buildings

Samsung Electronics is joining forces with Yuchang E&C, Korea's largest company specializing in the manufacture of modular buildings, to expand the AI smart modular construction market.

Samsung Electronics signed an MOU with Yuchang E&C, agreeing to cooperate on the development of AI smart modular construction products and on securing market leadership.

Yuchang E&C launched Korea's first modular construction business in 2003, and based on its market-leading technological capabilities, it has been presenting various types of modular buildings ranging from residential, educational, and office spaces to military facilities.

Through this agreement, Samsung Electronics plans to apply to Yuchang E&C's diverse modular buildings its 'SmartThings Pro,' which provides customized AI solutions according to the form and purpose of a space, along with innovative AI home appliances such as system air conditioners, signage, refrigerators, and washing machines, as well as approximately 4,200 types of SmartThings-connected devices.

'SmartThings Pro' is an AI B2B solution that extends the in-home 'SmartThings' connected experience to a wide range of buildings—including commercial buildings such as offices and hotels, as well as schools and multi-family residential facilities—helping tenants and administrators manage buildings more conveniently and efficiently through △AI-based integrated energy management and △remote management and operation of facilities requiring maintenance and repair.

In addition, Samsung Electronics plans to expand the 'Home AI' vision it unveiled at CES 2025 earlier this year into modular construction. Samsung's 'Home AI' vision encompasses extending the Home experience by creating a comfortable, home-like environment wherever one goes—beyond one's residence to means of transportation, office spaces, and commercial facilities.
