KCC and KCC Glass took first place in the ‘2020 Korea Brand Power Index (K-BPI)’ survey, ranking No. 1 in the eco-friendly paint category for the second consecutive year and in the household flooring category for the fifth consecutive year.

Now in its 22nd year, the K-BPI is one of Korea’s leading brand evaluation indices. It measures brand power based on consumer surveys, enabling comparison of the standing of domestic industry sectors and corporate brands. The consumer survey targets men and women aged 15 to 59 in Seoul and the six major metropolitan cities, assessing each brand’s awareness and loyalty through one-on-one individual interviews, from which a comprehensive score is calculated.

In this survey, hosted by the Korea Management Association Consulting (KMAC), KCC ranked No. 1 in the eco-friendly paint category for the second consecutive year with ‘Soopuro,’ its water-based architectural paint brand. ‘Soopuro’ is a leading eco-friendly paint brand that minimizes the content and emission of hazardous substances. In particular, having ranked No. 1 for five consecutive years in the Korea Standards Association (KSA)-hosted Korea Quality Excellence Index (KS-QEI) survey conducted last year — a recognition of its quality — this K-BPI survey once again confirmed it as the most beloved eco-friendly paint among consumers. With its excellent eco-friendliness, color reproduction, and ability to inhibit various fungi such as mold, ‘Soopuro’ can be widely applied in a range of settings including residential facilities, factories, schools, and hospitals. Recently, as interest in self-interior décor has grown, its DIY paint products have won favorable reviews and a strong response from customers. ‘Soopuro Well-being’ and ‘Soopuro All-in-One’ have proven their eco-friendliness, earning not only the highest grade of the HB Mark, an eco-friendly building material certification, but also the Environmental Mark certified by the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute, an agency under the Ministry of Environment.

In addition, in the household flooring category, KCC Glass’s flooring brand ‘Soop’ beat out numerous competitors to rank No. 1 for the fifth consecutive year, proving itself the most recognized ‘flooring’ brand among consumers. In particular, it showed a competitive edge across overall loyalty power — which reflects brand loyalty indicators such as brand image, purchase likelihood, and preference. It reportedly earned high marks for being a trustworthy, reliable product thanks to a high-performance product lineup designed with consumer safety and health in mind. The ‘Soop’ product lineup is broadly divided into sheet flooring and wood flooring. Notably, the sheet flooring incorporates hinoki oil extracted from hinoki cypress and an anti-slip function, and became the industry’s first to obtain the Atopy Safe Mark. Through this, it has reportedly enhanced safety and eco-friendliness for users. In addition, ‘Soop’ was inducted into the Hall of Fame last year for winning first place for 10 consecutive years in the KS-QEI survey.

△The sheet flooring can be selected to suit the consumer’s living environment according to thickness, including Soop Green Hinoki (1.8T), Soop Blue (2.0T), Soop Ok (2.2T), Soop Cheongaram (2.5T), Soop Sorihyang (3.0T), Soop Sorisoon (4.5T), and Soop Sorihyu (6.0T). The Soop Sorisoon and Soop Sorihyu products feature thick cushioning that delivers excellent sound insulation, helping to reduce light inter-floor noise. △Wood flooring options include Soop Reinforced Flooring, Soop Gangmaru Yoon (5.8T), and Soop Gangmaru Jeong (7.5T). With modern designs that bring out the colors and feel of nature, these products go well with any interior and create a space that preserves the natural grain of wood.

A KCC official said, “Going forward, we will continue to put customers first and strive to earn their unwavering affection through the continuous development of eco-friendly products and a systematic brand management system.”

Alongside this, KCC Glass recently drew attention by renewing and relaunching its PVC tile flooring ‘Soop Sense Tile’ to reflect the latest interior trend designs. ‘Soop Sense Tile’ is a premium LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile) flooring that uses a special manufacturing process to minimize deformation caused by heat and moisture. Its surface is coated with a special UV paint, making it scratch-resistant, highly durable, and not easily soiled. It is also easy to install and comes in a variety of patterns such as wood, concrete, marble, and carpet, allowing selection according to taste and purpose. It is mainly used in commercial facilities with frequent foot traffic, such as schools, large stores, department stores, buildings, and restaurants.

In line with the latest interior trends, this renewed product adds richer colors and more diverse patterns for a total of 62 design patterns. In particular, wide-format sizes were added to the wood pattern tiles, with textures and colors rendered realistically like actual wood. In addition to the basic △natural wood, the range includes uniquely styled wood patterns such as △vintage wood and △paint wood. While the wood patterns are rectangular tiles that are longer on one side, the stone and textile patterns come in two square types measuring 450×450 mm and 600×600 mm. Among these, the 600×600 mm size was expanded to differentiate the product by enabling natural combinations of marble and concrete patterns even in large spaces. Beyond these, a number of eye-catching designs are available, such as Hera Concrete with its rough textures and Sahara Noir Marble featuring prominent cracks. Furthermore, KCC Glass is actively pursuing eco-friendly production in line with increasingly stringent domestic and international environmental regulations, and has obtained eco-friendly certification for all of its light-traffic PVC flooring products, including ‘Soop Sense Tile.’ 02-3480-5000
