Two ‘Prestige Artistry’ tile flooring products for commercial spaces

Recognized for design originality in realizing the texture and feel of natural materials in flooring

LG Hausys has won a Winner award at the ‘Red Dot Design Award,’ one of the world’s three most prestigious design awards, for its ‘LG Z:IN Prestige Artistry’ tile flooring product for commercial spaces.

In this regard, LG Hausys announced that two products—‘Prestige Artistry-Wood & Metal’ and ‘Prestige Artistry-Heritage Ceramic’—had won ‘Winner awards in the Product Design category of the 2021 Red Dot Design Award.’

The two products that received the Winner awards were highly rated for their design originality, durability, and innovation in the flooring product field.

In terms of design, ‘Prestige Artistry-Wood & Metal’ was recognized for its originality in realizing a pattern design that combines two different materials—wood and metal—in flooring, while ‘Prestige Artistry-Heritage Ceramic’ was recognized for expressing the inherent texture and patterns of ceramic material more realistically than before.

In terms of durability, both products received favorable evaluations for being usable over the long term even in high-traffic commercial spaces, as they apply a high-density surface treatment agent to double-coat the product surface for scratch resistance, along with a transfer-minimizing technology that prevents the concrete undulations of the subfloor from showing through.

In terms of innovation, the products were well regarded for applying LG Hausys’ own differentiated technology—the continuous synchronized embossing method—to print the texture of natural materials onto the surface as realistically as possible, together with a special printing method in which the surface’s three-dimensional appearance changes depending on the viewing angle. The continuous synchronized embossing method is a technology that aligns the flooring’s design with its embossing and minimizes pattern repetition to render a surface that looks more realistically like natural material.

Cheon Ha-bong, Executive Vice President and head of the LG Hausys Design Center, said, “With this award, LG Hausys has once again proven in the global market that it is a company leading interior materials design trends,” adding, “Going forward, we will continue to present products with original and differentiated designs that realize the feel of various natural materials in interior materials even more realistically.”

Meanwhile, LG Hausys has won a total of 54 international design awards to date—including 14 Red Dot Design Awards, 32 iF Design Awards, and 8 IDEA Design Awards, which are counted among the world’s three most prestigious design awards—earning recognition for its design capabilities around the world.
