Double Low-E glass ‘SKN176II’ delivers outstanding thermal insulation performance
A total of 100,000㎡ to be supplied in the second half of the year

LX Glas is supplying its premium Double Low-E glass ‘SKN176II’ to Banpo Jugong Complex 1, District 3.
A total of 100,000㎡ (30,000 pyeong) is scheduled to be supplied in the second half of 2024. The site will feature ‘triple-pane glass,’ which uses three panes of glass to further enhance thermal insulation performance. It generally improves the insulation performance of windows, applying a highly refined, premium material well suited to a high-end residential complex.
The redevelopment of Banpo Jugong Complex 1, District 3 involves transforming a 1,490-unit complex with a 72㎡ exclusive-use area into a 2,091-unit development spanning 17 buildings ranging from three basement levels to 35 stories above ground, with Samsung C&T selected as the contractor. The Banpo District 3 complex has been named ‘Raemian Trinione,’ with move-in scheduled for around August 2026.
As major construction companies have recently shown growing interest in eco-friendly management, they are actively pursuing the development and application of environmentally friendly materials. As part of these efforts, construction companies favor materials that deliver high performance while minimizing environmental impact, and as a result they are choosing LX Glas’s SKN176II as an eco-friendly glass.
Residential glass is generally single Low-E glass with a single coating of silver, whereas SKN176II is a Double Low-E glass product with two coatings of silver, offering outstanding thermal insulation performance with a thermal transmittance of 0.99W/㎡K (based on a 16㎜ argon air layer). By blocking solar heat, it prevents interiors from heating up during hot summers, helping reduce cooling costs, and its high visible-light transmittance keeps interiors bright and well-lit even without artificial lighting.
In addition, its low interior reflectance ensures a clear view when looking outside, further enhancing the value of premium residential buildings. Developing Double Low-E glass requires advanced technology, and LX Glas holds an overwhelming market share in this field.
