Shinmyung Maru Co., Ltd. (CEO Kwon Hyuk-tae) announced that it had earned the honor of receiving the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Award at the '19th 2023 Korea Construction Culture Grand Prize.' Having walked a singular path devoted solely to flooring for 27 years, this strong, small-and-medium eco-friendly flooring specialist has focused on discovering and introducing eco-friendly flooring from both home and abroad.
Taking high-quality eco-friendliness as a given, Shinmyung Maru has discovered and supplied to the domestic market products that combine outstanding durability with functionality backed by a range of patents. These efforts have contributed to leading an eco-friendly spatial culture and have played an important role in bringing to the fore competition for advanced quality driven by the upgrading of finishing-material quality.
Shinmyung Maru has been introducing and installing Unilin's Quick-step flooring in the domestic market since 2017. With a global market share of over 12%, this product is recognized for its eco-friendliness in terms of carbon zero and sustainability, and it holds numerous domestic and international eco-friendly certifications, including EU-ecolabel, FloorScore, A1, M1, EPD, and Cradle to Cradle Certified®.
In functional terms as well, Quick-step flooring earns high marks: its Uniclic patented locking technology minimizes gapping to achieve near-perfect waterproofing, and its Scratch Guard surface-treatment technology delivers a surface more than 10 times stronger than that of ordinary flooring. In addition, with more than 300 varied designs and sizes, it greatly broadens the range of consumer choice and helps lead the value and trends of interior spaces in domestic buildings.
