2025 Good Design Award for the Navien Sleep Mattress and Smart Door Lock
Earns the right to use the government-certified ‘GD’ mark
Two of Kyungdong Navien’s products—the ▲Navien Sleep Mattress Four-Season Air and the ▲Navien Smart Door Lock—have been selected as outstanding industrial design products at the ‘2025 Good Design Korea Awards.’
Launched in 1985 and now in its 41st edition this year, the ‘Good Design Korea Awards’ is Korea’s most prestigious design awards, hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by the Korea Institute of Design Promotion. This year, Kyungdong Navien entered these two products in the Product Design – Electrical and Electronic Products category, and their design excellence was officially recognized through a fair evaluation process.
Kyungdong Navien’s ‘Navien Sleep Mattress Four-Season Air’ earned high marks for harmonizing a user-centered, emotive design with sophisticated technology that provides the optimal sleep temperature at every moment throughout all four seasons. In fact, the Sleep Hub main unit adopts a wave-shaped, all-in-one design that blends in wherever it is placed in the bedroom, and users can easily set ‘COOL Mode’ and ‘WARM Mode’ to suit their sleep environment. It also adds convenience with a double-sided cover featuring cooling and allergy-care fabrics, eliminating the need to swap it out by season. In addition, the Navien Smart Door Lock (Square Solidity series) is characterized by design that embodies the product’s essential values of robustness and stability. Its square, angular silhouette and restrained surface divisions add a sense of weight and balance, and by minimizing the parting line and decoration on the front of the door lock, it emphasizes a clean, straight look free of clutter. Furthermore, it uses materials such as ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) and polycarbonate (PC) plastic, which are highly resistant to impact and heat, along with metal, adding a premium yet refined atmosphere.
User convenience and safety were also taken into account. Users can choose from a push-pull type that opens easily by pushing and pulling, as well as lever and mini-lever types, according to their preference. In particular, the push-pull type adds features such as power-outage and magnetic-shock blocking and a fire-prevention system.
