Washable Sterilizing Dust-Collection Filter
Samsung Electronics has earned New Excellent Technology (NET) certification from the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy for its air purifier filter technology.
In its new air purifier, the 'BESPOKE Cube Air Infinite Line' launched this past March, Samsung Electronics newly equipped a 'Washable Sterilizing Dust-Collection Filter' that can be washed with water and reused, and it received the 2024 certification for the technology applied to this filter. New Excellent Technology certification is a program in which the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Industrial Technology Association certify the innovativeness and excellence of technologies that are the first of their kind developed domestically or that innovatively improve upon existing technologies. The 'hybrid electrostatic dust-collection technology' of the Washable Sterilizing Dust-Collection Filter developed by Samsung Electronics is characterized by generating high-concentration ions only inside the air purifier to effectively capture fine dust and bacteria, while minimizing the ions and ozone released to the outside.
The Washable Sterilizing Dust-Collection Filter offers a range of outstanding air purification performance, including △the ability to remove more than 99.999% of ultrafine dust, as well as △sterilizing more than 99% of captured bacteria and viruses and △keeping ozone generation at 0.01 ppm or less. This performance is maintained even when the filter is washed with water and reused rather than being periodically replaced. In addition, the new BESPOKE Cube Air Infinite Line is equipped with a 'photocatalytic deodorizing filter,' which, instead of the conventional activated-carbon method, uses a photocatalyst and ultraviolet (UV) light to adsorb and decompose odor-causing substances for efficient removal.
Beyond the New Excellent Technology certification, this past February the product also earned 'PA (Pure Air) certification' from the Korea Ozone & Ultraviolet Association, recognizing its performance in reducing airborne bacteria and viruses. In addition, it received 'AI+ certification' from the Korean Standards Association for its 'Custom Clean AI+' function, which analyzes indoor and outdoor air quality and purifies indoor air in advance when it predicts that air quality will deteriorate.
