Adds its own subsidy on top when replacing boilers for vulnerable households
Eco-friendly boilers cut annual gas bills by up to 440,000 won
Kiturami Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Hak-soo) announced that, through the first half of this year, it will support the "free installation of eco-friendly boilers" to ease the boiler replacement costs and heating expenses of low-income and vulnerable households.
Eligible recipients are low-income and vulnerable households designated by the Ministry of Environment, such as basic livelihood security recipients and the near-poor. Starting this year, multi-child households with income at or below 70% of the median income and social welfare facilities are also eligible. When an eligible household replaces an aging household boiler with a Kiturami eco-friendly boiler, it can have the boiler installed free of charge, as Kiturami adds its own subsidy to the Ministry of Environment's 600,000-won installation subsidy. According to a study by the Ministry of Environment, replacing an aging boiler with an eco-friendly boiler—about 12% more energy efficient—can save up to 440,000 won in annual gas bills per boiler (based on January 2023 city gas rates). In addition, it delivers outstanding air-quality benefits, reducing nitrogen oxide emissions by about 87% per year, carbon monoxide emissions by about 70.5% per year, and carbon dioxide emissions by about 19% per year. To apply for free installation of an eco-friendly boiler, contact your local Kiturami dealer or the Kiturami customer center. Before replacing a boiler, you must first confirm your eligibility through your local government and then proceed with installation via the mandatory "pre-application" process.
A Kiturami Boiler official said, "We hope that low-income and vulnerable groups, who are suffering the double burden of high prices and rising energy costs, can ease their heating cost burden even a little by installing highly energy-efficient Kiturami eco-friendly boilers," adding, "Going forward, we will continue to take an active lead in supporting vulnerable groups through a variety of energy-sharing initiatives."
