Neulbom Schools in the Daejeon Area
Supplying ‘Far-Infrared Ondol Heating’
Kiturami Co., Ltd. has installed the ‘Kiturami CarbonBoard Ondol’ system in 51 Neulbom School classrooms across 15 elementary schools in the Daejeon area.
Neulbom School is a program that integrates and improves upon the existing after-school and childcare systems of elementary schools. It is a comprehensive education program that supports students’ growth and development by connecting a variety of educational resources from schools and local communities beyond regular classes. In particular, because the Neulbom School program includes learning activities that make use of the classroom floor, it requires an environment where floor heating is available during the winter season.
The 15 elementary schools in the Daejeon area, which remodeled 51 existing classrooms during the summer vacation, installed Kiturami CarbonBoard for floor heating in consideration of its various advantages, including easy installation, reduced heating costs, far-infrared heating, and safety.
Kiturami CarbonBoard can be installed directly over an existing floor without separate floor-heating work such as piping installation or concrete work, dramatically shortening the construction period. In fact, it took a total of 25 days to install the CarbonBoard in the 51 Neulbom School classrooms in the Daejeon area (an installation area of 3,800㎡, or about 1,150 pyeong), with installation completed in an average of just five hours per classroom, allowing the new semester to run without any disruption.
Applying the advantages of third-generation carbon mats, Kiturami CarbonBoard features a patented carbon heating mesh that emits far-infrared rays, providing fast, uniform radiant heating throughout the entire indoor space.
In preparation for growing demand for floor-heating installations driven by the expansion of the Neulbom School program, Kiturami is ramping up institutional sales to organizations such as metropolitan and provincial offices of education. In addition, centered on its regional CarbonBoard specialty stores, the company plans to expand its business by identifying a variety of installation cases—such as lodging facilities, medical facilities, public facilities, and social welfare facilities—that can leverage the advantages and cost-effectiveness of dry heating.
