Hyundai L&C Participates in ‘KBIS 2023,’ North America’s Largest Kitchen & Bath Show
Unveils Some 120 Products Including New ‘Opimo’ Line, Laying the Groundwork to Secure New Clients
Hyundai L&C is stepping up its push into the global interior stone market, launching new products while taking part in North America’s largest kitchen and bath show.
Hyundai L&C, a comprehensive building-materials company under the Hyundai Department Store Group, participated in ‘KBIS (The Kitchen & Bath Industry Show) 2023,’ held this past January in Las Vegas, USA. KBIS is North America’s premier kitchen and bath exhibition, drawing some 600 companies from around the world, and this year marked Hyundai L&C’s 12th time participating.
For this exhibition, Hyundai L&C set up a 240㎡ standalone booth designed around the concept of an Art Theater—where visitors appreciate works of art—under the theme ‘EARTH, the Art Created by Nature.’
Hyundai L&C showcased a total of some 120 products, including nine new products, featuring ‘Khanstone (marketed for export as Hanstone),’ an interior stone made from more than 90% natural quartz, and ‘Hanex,’ an MMA (methyl methacrylate)-based engineered stone.
In particular, the new Khanstone product ‘Opimo Collection’ offers outstanding strength and stain resistance while featuring richer wave and layered patterns than existing Khanstone products, achieving a design so refined that it is difficult to distinguish from natural quartzite with the naked eye.
Ahead of this, in August of last year Hyundai L&C expanded its production infrastructure by building the ‘Sejong Khanstone Second Production Line’ at its Sejong plant through an investment of 50 billion won. This gives the company the capacity to produce 2.2 million㎡ of interior stone annually, ranking it fourth in the global industry by production scale, behind Spain’s Cosentino, Israel’s Caesarstone, and the U.S.’s Cambria.
Park Seung-won, Executive Director and head of Hyundai L&C’s Americas Division, said, “To capture the North American market, we will roll out a variety of online and offline marketing initiatives and strengthen our sales channels through measures such as reorganizing our direct-sales centers and adopting 3PL (logistics outsourcing), aiming to leap into the global top three within the next three years.”
