Honored at ‘TISE 2023,’ the largest flooring trade show in the United States
World’s first to adopt PVC made with plant-based bio raw materials
Global luxury flooring company Noksoo (CEO Ko Dong-hwan) announced that it has become the first Korean company to be recognized for its leadership in sustainability at ‘TISE 2023 (The International Surface Event 2023),’ the largest flooring trade show in the United States, winning the show’s top honor, the ‘Best of Surface’ award.
Held in Las Vegas, USA, from January 31 to February 2, the TISE 2023 exhibition drew some 600 flooring companies from around the world. The Best of Awards 2023 is presented—following rigorous evaluation by a panel of flooring industry experts—to the company that has established an outstanding milestone in the most eco-friendly and sustainable flooring category.
Noksoo was recognized for its innovation in sustainability on several fronts: △being the world’s first to adopt, as the raw material for all of its products, PVC made with plant-based bio raw materials (Bio-Circular Balanced PVC)—a sustainable material created from discarded resources such as used cooking oil that achieves a 114% carbon reduction; △launching products that concentrate eco-friendly glue-free installation methods and technologies; and △declaring that it will produce only 100% recyclable flooring.
The product that drew the most attention at this exhibition was ECOLAY+, an eco-friendly product that can be installed without adhesive. It won praise for its noise-reduction capabilities, which address inter-floor noise—classified as a form of environmental pollution—through Noksoo’s own SOUNDPROTEC technology. Optimized not only for commercial spaces but also for Korean-style floor heating, it is a product with quality proven over 20 years and the world’s largest range of designs.
In particular, Noksoo garnered great attention by introducing its latest sustainable flooring products, including ROOM+, a hybrid carpet flooring that resolves the hygiene concerns associated with conventional carpet while delivering easy maintenance, outstanding durability, and waterproofing; and Acoustic Setagrip, which achieves easy, fast installation with no need for adhesive—using technology inspired by nature—along with industry-leading noise-reduction performance.
Noksoo CEO Ko Dong-hwan shared his thoughts, saying: “Starting with the adoption of plant-based bio PVC across all our products, Noksoo is accelerating the innovation of converting the raw materials that make up more than 95% of our products into eco-friendly materials made from discarded resources.” He added, “Together with our declaration to produce only 100% recyclable products, we will continue to redefine the global standard for sustainable flooring through safe raw materials, technology, and innovative products.”
Meanwhile, LVT, Noksoo’s flagship product, is currently exported to 50 countries worldwide on the strength of its competitive advantages—including excellent stability and durability, the technology and quality of its multi-layer structure method, and the world’s largest range of designs—delivered through the world’s first and only Circular Integrated Vertical Production system.
