KCC Glass Co-Hosts with the Korean Society of Interior Architects & Designers for the 15th Consecutive Year
First-Round Submissions Accepted Through October 10; Final Results Announced November 8

KCC Glass (CEO Chung Mong-ik), which operates the interior specialty brand ‘HomeCC Interior,’ announced that it has signed an agreement with the Korean Society of Interior Architects & Designers (KOSID, President Heo Hyeok) to co-host the ‘2024 Korea Interior Architecture Design Competition.’
Now in its 36th year, the Korea Interior Architecture Design Competition is a contest with a long history and tradition, and it is one of Korea’s leading interior architecture design events, serving as a gateway for up-and-coming designers. To support the expansion of the interior architecture industry’s foundation and the discovery of new talent, KCC Glass has co-hosted the competition with the Korean Society of Interior Architects & Designers for 15 years running since 2010. At last year’s ‘2023 Korea Interior Architecture Design Competition,’ a total of 299 entries were submitted, and the student team of Jang Dae-won, An Hui-yeong, and Kim Ju-hui from Konkuk University Glocal Campus was awarded the Grand Prize for their entry titled ‘Disinformation Incinerator.’
This year, beginning with the first-round submissions scheduled through October 10, the entries will go through a first-round review and a second-round review of the works that pass the first round, with the final results to be announced at an awards ceremony held at the Seoul Hall of Urbanism & Architecture on November 8. The single Grand Prize–winning work will receive a certificate and 6 million won in prize money, while the two Best Award–winning works will each receive a certificate and 3 million won in prize money. Detailed information on how to participate can be found on the official website of the Korean Society of Interior Architects & Designers.
Heo Hyeok, President of the Korean Society of Interior Architects & Designers, said, “Having continued for 36 years since 1989 and contributed to discovering creative and original designers, the Korea Interior Architecture Design Competition is, in name and reality, Korea’s premier interior architecture design contest,” adding, “This year again saw broad participation from talented new designers who will lead the future of interior architecture.” A KCC Glass official said, “As the concept of space has recently expanded beyond simply a place to stay into a place where diverse activities take place, the importance of interior architecture design is increasingly being emphasized,” and added, “Going forward, KCC Glass will continue various efforts to advance Korea’s interior architecture industry through its collaboration with the Korean Society of Interior Architects & Designers.”
Meanwhile, KCC Glass is also carrying out various activities to strengthen transparency in the interior market and improve consumer awareness through ‘Home Muse,’ a brand supporters group for HomeCC Interior in which past winners of the Korea Interior Architecture Design Competition participate. In particular, this year, experts from the Korean Society of Interior Architects & Designers will take part as Home Muse mentors, jointly producing social media content that provides the latest information on interior design, among other activities.
