‘Flush-Combined Urinal’ integrates a urinal and a washbasin into a single design
Balancing aesthetics and functionality on a foundation of eco-friendly consideration
The ‘Inus Flush-Combined Washbasin’ from The-Inus (CEO Hong Seung-ryeol), a bathroom specialist company, has won the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy's Prize in the product design category at the ‘2021 Good Design Award.’
The-Inus's ‘Inus Flush-Combined Washbasin’ passed a rigorous three-stage evaluation and achieved the remarkable feat of winning the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy's Prize among the works selected as 2021 Good Design (GD) products in the product design category.
The ‘Inus Flush-Combined Washbasin’ is designed in the form of a washbasin that allows users to wash their hands in a water tank attached to the top of the urinal after urinating, with a structure that reuses the used water to clean the inside of the urinal—a product that lets people naturally practice resource conservation in everyday life. As a urinal that combines flushing to enable continuous circulation with water conservation in mind, it was highly praised for its innovative design that considers not only function and aesthetics but also the environment.
In particular, breaking away from the uniform shape of typical urinals, the design stands out with the sculptural beauty of an X shape, in which organic curves harmonize with the triangular section closest to the user to give an orderly impression. To fully express its design characteristics, the material used is a low-deformation body, a special ceramic material that undergoes minimal deformation.
The-Inus's ‘Inus Flush-Combined Washbasin’ will be available primarily at offline stores this coming November.
Meanwhile, over a total of five days from October 6 to October 10, The-Inus exhibited alongside various companies at ‘Design Korea 2021’ under the theme of achieving carbon neutrality. Across a total of six zones, The-Inus participated in the exhibition as one example among various measures for low-carbon living in our homes' daily lives, within the fifth zone's category ‘In Ordinary Daily Life: Carbon Reduction.’
