36 Korean companies participate

The LED Industry Forum (Chairman Ryu Jae-man), together with KOTRA, dispatched a Korea Pavilion to the '2022 Light+Building' exhibition held over five days from October 2 to 6 in Frankfurt, Germany.

The Frankfurt L+B Exhibition is the world's No.1 exhibition in the lighting sector and is held biennially. In 2020, it was canceled one week before the opening due to COVID-19. Held for the first time in four years, this exhibition drew strong preference for attendance and participation among Korean companies. Korean participants included companies from various fields such as chips, packages, lighting, and lenses, including Samsung Electronics, Seoul Semiconductor, Maltani, Feelux, Dongmyung Electric, and Anycasting. Counting individual companies and joint pavilions such as the Korea Pavilion, a total of 36 Korean companies attended. The Korea Pavilion dispatched by the Forum comprised 14 companies, including Nurion, IL Science, ISLT, and Gigatera.

Moon Ok-gyeon, Secretary General of the LED Industry Forum, said, "Over the past two years, the overseas exhibition Korea Pavilion projects carried out by the Forum were canceled or held online due to COVID-19, and to make up for this we held the International Light Convergence Expo both online and offline, achieving tangible results not only offline but also through the online platform." He added, "By dispatching our small and medium-sized enterprises to the Korea Pavilion at the Frankfurt L+B Exhibition in Germany, held for the first time in four years since the pandemic, we will do our utmost to support overseas market entry that had been blocked." He also said, "We will prepare a program inviting the key buyers who visited this Korea Pavilion to the 2023 International Light Convergence Expo that the Forum will host in June 2023, and by working closely with the Industry Forum and the KOTRA trade office, we will prepare various programs to support our companies' overseas market entry."

Meanwhile, during the L+B Exhibition, the LED Industry Forum, together with KOTRA, jointly promoted the 'Busan World Expo 2030.'
