Dongwha Group Central Research Institute completed, conducting research in the materials and chemicals fields

Securing core technological capabilities, strengthening R&D capacity, and enhancing corporate competitiveness

Dongwha Enterprise (CEO Kim Hong-jin) held the completion ceremony for the ‘Dongwha Group Central Research Institute (hereinafter the Central Research Institute)’ located in Incheon on November 15.

The completion ceremony was attended by Dongwha Group Chairman Seung Myung-ho, Dongwha Group Vice Chairman Seung Ji-su, Dongwha Enterprise CEO Kim Hong-jin, Dongwha Electrolyte CEO Lee Si-jun, Central Research Institute Director Kim Jung-soo, and other executives and staff.

Ground was broken in May of last year, and the Central Research Institute was completed this November, with a scale of one basement level and four above-ground floors. The Central Research Institute will carry out research in the fields of △materials, the foundation of Dongwha for 74 years, △fine chemicals, which have opened the way to new businesses, and △electrolytes, the company’s future competitive edge.

With the completion of the Central Research Institute as a turning point, Dongwha Enterprise plans to focus on preemptively securing core technologies for the future and exploring new businesses. By integrating previously dispersed research functions and enhancing its R&D operational capabilities, the company also intends to further strengthen its corporate competitiveness.

Kim Jung-soo, Director of the Dongwha Group Central Research Institute, said, “The Central Research Institute is where the technological innovation that will secure Dongwha’s tomorrow begins,” adding, “We will strengthen our competitiveness in the industries we currently operate in while continuing to discover new growth engines.” He also stated, “We will continue to innovate in research and development in order to be reborn as a company that leads in technology.”
