Collaboration with Yangpyeong Museum of Art
Samhwa Paints Mfg. Co., Ltd. provided eco-friendly paint for the 'Min Jung-ki Archive Exhibition,' held at the Yangpyeong Museum of Art in Gyeonggi Province through August 18.
Samhwa Paints is strengthening cooperation with a variety of related institutions to build a society in which everyone can easily access culture and the arts, and to contribute to the development of local culture and the arts. The 'Min Jung-ki Archive Exhibition' is the first exhibition jointly organized by Samhwa Paints and the Yangpyeong Museum of Art following the 'Public-Private Partnership Agreement for the Discovery of Art and Cultural Resources' signed by the two parties.
Artist Min Jung-ki is a leading painter of Korean contemporary art who has built a distinctive artistic world encompassing nature and the city, tradition and modernity. This exhibition offers a chance to encounter the works of Min Jung-ki, who drew inspiration from the natural landscapes of Yangpyeong to portray tranquility and beauty in fine detail.
Samhwa Paints illuminated Min Jung-ki's works from different periods with special content that analyzes color in depth. Samhwa Paints applied dominant, secondary, and accent colors to the exhibition space to enhance the emotional resonance of the works, and used the NCS color system to maximize the messages contained within them.
The Samhwa Paints product used in this exhibition is 'iLux Multi Eggshell,' a water-based architectural paint. With its soft, low-sheen finish, the product creates a more refined and elegant interior space. 'iLux Multi Eggshell' has obtained the Korea Eco-Label certification, the nation's leading eco-friendly certification.
Lee Sang-hee, head of Samhwa Paints' Color Design Center, said, "This exhibition was a truly meaningful opportunity to analyze and shed new light on the colors in Min Jung-ki's works, along with their meaning and emotion," adding, "I hope visitors can share in the emotion and inspiration the artist felt through the colors that capture the scenery of Yangpyeong." She continued, "We plan to continue taking part in public-private partnership exhibitions to advance culture and the arts in local communities."
