Promoting the ventilation industry and leading the way in air quality improvement
"High expectations for the association's role in the future of the ventilation industry and public health"
The Korea Ventilation Industry Association, an incorporated association launched to promote public health and the development of the ventilation industry through healthy indoor air quality management, received its establishment permit from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and held a modest nameplate unveiling ceremony for its office on December 7 last year in the association's conference room, attended by the association's executives and a few guests.
The event was held with a minimum number of attendees as social distancing was raised to Level 2 due to COVID-19. The association held its inaugural general meeting on April 20 last year at the Sheraton Seoul Palace Gangnam Hotel and, after submitting its application for corporate establishment permit to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport on May 20, obtained its establishment permit six months later.
The Korea Ventilation Industry Association is an organization of companies that manufacture ventilation devices such as mechanical, hybrid, natural, and floor ventilation systems. Its main objectives include the joint development of ventilation-related technologies, ventilation-related group standards, education and promotion on the importance of ventilation and its technologies, research and statistics, and government proposals for indoor air quality management through ventilation and the development of the ventilation industry.
The secretariat is located at Room 1106, Halla Sigma Valley 2nd Building, 7 Seongsui-ro 7-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, and inquiries can be made at 02-3409-1967. The website is currently under development.
Kim Jung-hwan, Vice Chairman of the Korea Ventilation Industry Association (CEO of Hanwool), said, "As we experienced with MERS, COVID-19, and fine dust, mechanical ventilation is the most important factor in prioritizing public health above all else in enclosed indoor environments. These days, as people increasingly spend more time indoors than in outdoor activities, we expect the association to play a significant role for the future of the ventilation industry and public health," adding, "We wish the ventilation industry boundless growth in the years ahead."
