KCC Glass Holds Community Sharing Event

with Youth Preparing for Independence

KCC Glass (CEO Chung Mong-ik), which operates the interior specialty brand ‘HomeCC Interior,’ held a ‘Making Meals of Love’ volunteer activity carried out jointly by its executives and employees together with youth preparing for independence.

Held on August 8 at the Bangbae Art Youth Center in Seocho-gu, Seoul, with the participation of some 30 KCC Glass executives, employees, and youth preparing for independence, this volunteer activity is part of ‘Dream HomeCC,’ a social contribution program that supports the stable entry of youth preparing for independence into society. It was planned to pass on recipes for side dishes that promote healthy eating habits to the participating young people and to practice sharing with the local community through ‘Food Art Therapy,’ a psychological healing activity that combines food and art. Together with a professional Food Art Therapy instructor, participants personally prepared nutritionally balanced side dishes such as tomato-cucumber kimchi and braised quail eggs in soy sauce, which were then delivered to youth preparing for independence and low-income single-person households residing in Seocho-gu.

A KCC Glass official said, “We hope this volunteer activity has helped, even in a small way, youth preparing for independence to develop healthy eating habits and to learn the joy of sharing,” adding, “Going forward, KCC Glass will continue to provide various forms of support through the Dream HomeCC program for youth preparing for independence who fall within the blind spots of welfare.”

Meanwhile, in March, KCC Glass signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Seocho-gu, the Bangbae Art Youth Center, and the Banpo Community Welfare Center to advance the Dream HomeCC program, and it is running a variety of programs to support the stable entry into society of youth preparing for independence who live in Seocho-gu. In the second half of this year as well, KCC Glass plans to carry out programs through the Dream HomeCC initiative to help youth preparing for independence with employment and entrepreneurship, including job-application profile photo shoots, mock interviews, and online shopping mall start-up training.
