Presenting a 2026 CMF (Color, Material, Finish) design strategy
Developing products, brand colors, and more through collaboration across diverse industries

Samhwa Paints Industrial Co., Ltd. successfully concluded its ‘2026-27 SHIFT Trend Seminar,’ held on September 19 at POSCO Tower Yeoksam in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
The seminar was attended by some 200 people, including architecture and interior industry experts, designers, and general consumers. On the day, Samhwa Paints presented its 2026 CMF (Color, Material, Finish) design strategy by analyzing global macro trends and lifestyle shifts, building on the keyword of its Color of the Year nuance ‘Ride the Tide,’ which was announced on September 8. At the seminar, Samhwa Paints introduced the lifestyle codes set to lead 2026 as Immersive Curation (the curation of sensory immersive experiences), Holistic Glow (a wellness balanced inside and out), Puzzle Journey (finding joy in everyday life), and Echoing Longevity (enduring value). It then proposed color trends and CMF design strategies under the themes of Mirage, Odyssey, Eunoia, and Eclipse. In a satisfaction survey conducted among the trend seminar attendees, 96.7% said they were satisfied overall, and 76.7% said they would like to pursue collaboration and color consulting with Samhwa Paints.
Samhwa Paints collaborates with a wide range of domestic and international industries—including architecture, interior design, digital devices, and mobility—to directly develop and apply the colors used in new products and brands. In particular, Samhwa Paints has earned a strong response by going beyond simply providing colors to offer industry-tailored color consulting based on analysis of lifestyle and industry-specific trends.
Lee Sang-hee, head of Samhwa Paints’ Color Design Center, said, “The greater the era of uncertainty, the more color becomes an important language connecting consumers and brands,” adding, “Going forward, we plan to continue offering customer-tailored consulting and trend proposals based on our accumulated color research and design strategies.”
