'i-Think Water-Based Exterior Grade 1'
Below the standard threshold for architectural paints

Samhwa Paints Industrial Co., Ltd. announced that its architectural water-based paint 'i-Think Water-Based Exterior Grade 1 (18L)' has earned Low-Carbon Certification, the second-tier certification under the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) program.
The Environmental Product Declaration certification is a system in which environmental information covering the entire life cycle of a product or service is quantitatively displayed and affixed to the product. Among products that have received EPD certification, those meeting the 'Low-Carbon Product Standard' can obtain the second-tier Low-Carbon Certification. The 'Low-Carbon Product Standard' applies to products that have reduced their carbon emissions and recorded emissions lower than the average for comparable products. The 'i-Think Water-Based Exterior Grade 1 (18L)' recorded carbon emissions of 1.72 kgCO2e/kg (kilograms of carbon dioxide equivalent per kilogram) across its entire process, including raw material receipt, production, and distribution. This is approximately 12% lower than the 1.96 kgCO2e/kg standard threshold for architectural paints.
With this certification, Samhwa Paints will receive benefits such as additional points in green building certification evaluations, recognition as a green product sales item, inclusion among items subject to mandatory purchase by local governments and public institutions, and inclusion among purchase items for the Public Procurement Service's limited competitive bidding and designated competitive bidding. Samhwa Paints plans to secure a competitive advantage and market dominance in the public procurement market. The certified 'i-Think Water-Based Exterior Grade 1 (18L)' is a paint built on the concept of being safe to use even in places where children are present. With its outstanding water resistance and weather resistance, the product can help protect buildings and extend their service life.
A Samhwa Paints official said, "Demand for low-carbon products is increasing, so the market is expected to gradually expand," adding, "We are strengthening eco-friendly research and development to practice carbon neutrality and ESG management."
