Germany's office trade fair 'Orgatec 2020 (ORGATEC),' which had been scheduled for this coming October, has been postponed to October 25–29, 2022, due to the impact of COVID-19.
Koelnmesse, the organizer of Orgatec, decided to postpone the event after reassessing the overall situation, as many companies chose not to participate in this fair because of the fallout from COVID-19. This decision to postpone is all the more disappointing given that Germany's exhibition industry was set to resume in earnest starting in September.
'Orgatec 2020,' the architecture and furniture fair held in Cologne, Germany, is the leading international trade fair for offices, furnishing equipment, and furniture. It contributes to the seamless interaction among the work environment, work processes, and work culture, and puts forward creative ideas for the future.
With registrations continuing to pour in until early this year, before COVID-19 spread, Orgatec 2020 had been expected to draw a bigger turnout than ever. However, as many companies were hit hard by the coronavirus crisis, the event has now been pushed back two years.
To minimize the gap created by this postponement and to provide a venue where exhibitors can showcase their products, Koelnmesse is planning a new type of presentation opportunity in 2021. At the same time, Koelnmesse is devoting its full efforts to preparing for the furniture and interior fair 'imm cologne' and the furniture materials and machinery fair 'interzum,' to be held next January and May, respectively.
