Signs sponsorship agreement with Habitat for Humanity Korea for the ‘2023 Building Homes of Hope’ program

Has continued homebuilding volunteer work and sponsorship for 13 years since 2011

Stanley Black & Decker Korea (CEO Hong Sung-wan), the world’s largest tool company, held a sponsorship agreement ceremony with Habitat for Humanity Korea for the ‘2023 Building Homes of Hope’ program on January 19 at the DEWALT Customer Experience Center in Seocho-dong, Seoul, donating approximately 30 million won worth of power tools, accessories, and vacuum cleaners from its own brands, including DEWALT, Stanley, and Black & Decker.

The agreement ceremony was attended by Hong Sung-wan, CEO of Stanley Black & Decker’s Korean branch, and Yoon Hyung-joo, Chairman of Habitat for Humanity Korea, along with other officials. Since 2011, Stanley Black & Decker has participated every year in the social contribution activities organized by Habitat for Humanity Korea, donating tools, vacuum cleaners, and proceeds from charity bazaars amounting to a cumulative total of 550 million won. The company has also steadily taken part in Building Homes of Hope volunteer activities twice a year together with its headquarters’ employees and customers, and this past September in Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province, it resumed the Building Homes of Hope volunteer activities that had been temporarily suspended due to the impact of COVID-19—about two years after they were halted.

Through this sponsorship agreement, Stanley Black & Decker plans to actively lend its support to Habitat for Humanity Korea’s ‘Building Homes of Hope’ volunteer activities—which improve poor living environments and provide homes for underprivileged neighbors—by supplying work tools.

Hong Sung-wan, CEO of Stanley Black & Decker Korea, said, “For 13 years since 2011, we have continuously carried on Habitat homebuilding volunteer work and sponsorship, and 2022 was an especially meaningful year because we were able to once again join in volunteer activities—which had been conducted remotely due to COVID-19—and practice coexistence with the local community and love for our neighbors.” He added, “We will continue to strive to be a company that brings a positive influence to underprivileged neighbors and fulfills its social responsibility.”
