Awarded Incheon City's 'Certificate of Excellence for Creating Jobs for Senior Citizens'
CEO Choi Sun-jin: "We will strive for community contribution along with new product development"
Ace Home Deco (CEO Choi Sun-jin), a comprehensive interior-materials manufacturer representing Incheon, received the 'Certificate of Excellence for Creating Jobs for Senior Citizens' at the '2022 Incheon Senior Jobs Fair,' held on October 26 by Incheon City to raise positive awareness of its senior employment program and revitalize the initiative.
This certification is a program that recognizes and supports local companies and public institutions that contribute to increasing employment for senior citizens or that serve as models for creating age-friendly environments, designating them as outstanding companies for senior job creation. Among companies and institutions within the district that have 10 or more workers, those with a senior citizen (aged 60 or older) employment ratio of 10% or more may apply and are certified through a review process.
Companies and institutions certified as outstanding receive a certification plaque and are eligible for support such as participation in senior internships and consulting for applying to the age-friendly company program. In addition, they receive bonus points when applying for the outstanding job-creating company program run by the city's Economic Policy Division, as well as priority participation in job fairs. Furthermore, they can receive bonus points when applying for the small and medium enterprise development fund support and the Incheon City outstanding company program run by the city's Industry Promotion Division.
Meanwhile, the event, hosted by Incheon City and organized by the Incheon Senior Human Resources Development Center, was attended by approximately 800 people, including senior citizens and officials involved in the senior employment program, such as Lee Haeng-sook, Vice Mayor for Cultural and Welfare Affairs; Lee Bong-rak, First Vice Chair of the Incheon City Council; Lee Kyung-ja, Head of the Yeonsu-gu Incheon Branch of the Korea Senior Citizens Association; and Lee Geun-hee, Head of the Incheon Regional Office of the Korea Labor Force Development Institute for the Aged.
In response to the recent increase in demand among seniors for employment at private companies, 12 outstanding local companies and 12 dedicated senior employment agencies participated in the event to provide opportunities for information exchange between hiring companies and job-seeking seniors, offering guidance on employment counseling and recruitment plans for senior citizens.
In addition, a plaque of appreciation was presented to GS Retail Co., Ltd., which actively cooperated in the opening of the third 'GS25 Senior Dream Store with Youth' on the 14th, and awards were given to 43 individuals of merit in senior employment for 2022 and 12 outstanding companies, providing an opportunity to look back on the achievements to date and pledge to develop even more substantial jobs.
Vice Mayor Lee Haeng-sook said, "I am so delighted to be able to meet the senior citizens all in one place, and I was deeply moved to see the performances and products they have learned to create through their job participation," adding, "Our city will do its utmost to create even better jobs for the healthy and vibrant second act of our seniors' lives."
