Continues to Secure Eco-Friendly Certifications
Semix Housing's eco-friendly functional inorganic architectural finishing material, ‘Eco Myeongpum Green Wall,’ has developed a new one-component product and continues to secure eco-friendly certifications, expanding its competitiveness in the housing construction market.
Since its founding, Semix Housing has continuously conducted research and development on eco-friendly architectural finishing materials, obtaining related patents as well as a Green Technology Certificate and a Green Technology Product Confirmation from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. The company stated that it has also received the Green Environment Award from the Ministry of Environment and performance certification from KCL (Korea Conformity Laboratories), a nationally accredited certification body, as well as an eco-friendly inorganic-paint product registration certificate (Title 21 U.S. Code) from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) related to infection prevention.
The new one-component ‘Eco Myeongpum Green Wall’ product is a superior product with a solids content of 85% or more. As a finished product shipped from a smart production line, it offers shorter construction time than existing products and maximizes construction efficiency. It is a product that applies the standards for health-friendly housing construction, minimizing the construction-time delays and dust particles that can occur with most two-component products [base (powder) + additive (liquid)] mixed on-site. It is an eco-friendly functional one-component specialty finishing paint recognized as an add-on construction cost in the sale price of multi-family housing.
Eom Deok-jun, CEO of Semix Housing, said, “To promote citizens' health and create a pleasant residential environment, the government has established and applied the Health-Friendly Housing Construction Standards under Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Notice No. 2020-368, and most local governments in the Seoul metropolitan area have created and applied guidelines that exceed these standards. In particular, when calculating the sale price of housing subject to the price cap system, incentives are added—such as recognizing the use of specialty materials as an add-on cost—so we expect the product to be more widely applied at redevelopment and reconstruction sites.”
