'Mid-sized Enterprise Day'
EAGON Windows, Korea's leading specialist in system windows and doors, announced that Ahn Jeong-hyeok, a director at EAGON Windows Co., Ltd., received the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award at the honoree recognition ceremony of the 7th Mid-sized Enterprise Day, held on November 17 at the Lotte Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul.
'Mid-sized Enterprise Day' is an event organized by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Midmarket Enterprises Association to commend mid-sized business leaders who have made significant contributions to the nation's economic development and to widely promote the economic and social achievements of mid-sized enterprises. First held in 2015, this year marked its 7th edition.
Director Ahn Jeong-hyeok is an industry expert who has achieved outstanding results in the fields of BIPV (Building Integrated Photovoltaic System) and vacuum glass. Ahn received this Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award in recognition of his contribution in providing core technologies for the government's building energy zero-emission initiative. Key factors behind the award include not only establishing the foundation for the introduction and commercialization of BIPV technology and stabilizing a business generating annual sales of around 10 billion won, but also completing the base technology for the mass production of vacuum glass.
In the past, Ahn developed vacuum glass and became the world's first to obtain Germany's Passive House certification. In Korea, he achieved accomplishments including the Jang Yeong-sil Award, the Iron Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit, Green Technology Certification, and 12 patents. From 2012, he successfully carried out a three-year BIPV development research project, advancing BIPV design and technology to a new level. Through continuous R&D, he completed the development of BIPV module manufacturing technology using Resin Casting, and then developed a BIPV module combined with vacuum glass as a solution to improve the insulation performance of BIPV modules.
