Signs Business Agreement with the Ministry of Environment and the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute
Steadily Expanding Its Social Responsibility Through Ongoing Community Contribution Activities
‘Jaehyun Haneulchang,’ the interior brand of Jaehyun Intex Co., Ltd., a specialist in interiors and interior/exterior finishing materials, is joining hands with the Ministry of Environment and the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute (KEITI) to improve the indoor environments of vulnerable groups.
Jaehyun Haneulchang announced that, at a signing ceremony held on June 12 at the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute in Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul, it entered into a business agreement with the Ministry of Environment and KEITI for the ‘2024 Indoor Environment Improvement Project for Environmental Health-Vulnerable Groups.’ The signing ceremony was attended by Vice Minister of Environment Lim Sang-jun, KEITI President Choi Heung-jin, and key figures from the 19 participating companies. The ‘Indoor Environment Improvement Project for Environmental Health-Vulnerable Groups,’ supported by the Ministry of Environment and KEITI, began in 2009 and is now in its 16th year. This year, the project provides indoor environment safety diagnostics and consulting to 1,500 households of environmental health-vulnerable groups, including economically disadvantaged children and the elderly. Environmental health consultants and measurement analysts visit households in person to diagnose seven items—such as fine dust, total volatile organic compounds (TVOCs), mold, and house dust mites—and to propose improvement measures. Among these, 500 households in urgent need of improvement will be selected to receive support such as indoor environment improvement work.
Jaehyun Haneulchang is taking part in this year’s project by providing its own interior products. An official from Jaehyun Intex said, “We find it very meaningful to take part in improving the indoor living spaces of vulnerable groups,” adding, “We will continue to expand our community contribution activities by leveraging Jaehyun Haneulchang’s expertise and eco-friendly products.”
Jaehyun Intex, which began as Daesan Wood in 1983 and launched the Jaehyun Haneulchang brand in 2003, has been steadily sponsoring Habitat for Humanity Korea for seven years and actively engages in community contribution activities, including participating in an event to support independence patriots alongside singer Sean on Liberation Day, August 15, last year.
