AIMSAK releases 21.6V circular sander and adds a finishing tool to its woodworking lineup

AIMSAK Co., Ltd. has released the ‘21.6V BLDC Circular Sander BL22O806,’ developed on the strength of AIMSAK’s proprietary technology to meet the diversification of worksites as well as the varied needs and trends of users.

The newly released BL22O806 is a 21.6V circular sander that adds a finishing tool to the woodworking lineup. It is equipped with a high-output BLDC motor for workability and durability, reaching up to 10,000 rpm, and features a 5” 8-hole sanding sheet. With a 2.5 mm orbit diameter, it also features a rubber grip to prevent slipping and vibration. A dust bag has been added to provide dust collection for a cleaner work environment, and for user convenience it offers three-speed control via electronic buttons. A brake function provides a short braking time when stopping, and its light weight is another advantage.

The BL22O806 circular sander was one of the products AIMSAK users had hoped to see released. Prior to its launch, samples were demonstrated and evaluated by professionals and general consumers at the 2023 Korea Build exhibition, where it earned favorable reviews from hobbyist woodworkers and DIY enthusiasts. It also generated great expectations for building compatibility across AIMSAK’s woodworking lineup, and satisfaction was high after the product demonstrations. In particular, its compatibility with 18V batteries—and therefore with the recently released 8” AM618S sliding miter saw—was emphasized, making it welcome news for users of AIMSAK’s woodworking lineup.

Building on its own domestic technology, AIMSAK plans to release additional 21.6V series lineup products in 2023, and will pursue a marketing strategy focused on improving power tool technology and putting the customer’s perspective first.

Bosch Power Tools launches ‘EXPERT,’ an accessory brand for professionals

‘EXPERT’ comprises a total of 463 products across 13 categories, including drill bits, cutting wheels, jigsaw blades, hole saws, sanding sheets, and circular saw blades, all mainly used in professional work. Depending on the product, they are specialized by material such as concrete, tile, wood, metal, and brick, so the optimal product can be selected for each field of work, including construction, interior design, electrical work, heating and air-conditioning (HVAC), plumbing and equipment, and automotive disassembly.

In addition, a range of premium technologies unique to Bosch have been applied, such as Carbide technology, diamond grit technology, Particle control, and Vibration control. On this basis, the products deliver top performance across all accessory categories—long life, powerful performance, high speed, and high precision—offering up to 100 times the performance of existing Bosch standard products.

In particular, many products in the ‘EXPERT’ lineup incorporate the innovative carbide technology that Bosch is focusing on. Carbide is one of the hardest metals on earth, and accessories using it last up to 30 times longer than conventional bi-metal accessories. As a result, they deliver top performance even when working with rough, hard materials such as reinforced concrete, cast-iron pipe, and stainless steel.

A representative example, the hammer drill bit ‘EXPERT SDS max-8X,’ is Bosch’s world-first full-carbide product, boasting durability improved by more than 50% over previous versions. Featuring a 4-cutter full-carbide head, it is excellent for drilling into rough materials such as reinforced concrete.

As the use of harder special alloys such as ultra-high-tensile steel plate and reinforced concrete increases, demand for long-life accessories is rapidly growing among professionals. Through its ‘EXPERT’ accessories, Bosch plans to continuously introduce new products that keep pace with these varied professional needs.

DEWALT releases a cut-off tool, an impact driver, and high-capacity batteries

‘DEWALT,’ the premium professional power tool brand of Stanley Black & Decker Korea, is introducing two power tools that can be widely used across various worksites such as tiling, plumbing, and machinery, along with two high-capacity batteries built with GFN oil-resistant housings for field workers who frequently work outdoors.

The newly released ‘20V MAX XR Brushless 3-inch Cut-Off Tool (DCS438)’ and ‘20V MAX XR Brushless Impact Driver (DCF840)’ feature a light weight and an ergonomically designed, compact form that not only reduces users’ physical fatigue but also helps improve productivity.

▲The ‘20V MAX XR Brushless 3-inch Cut-Off Tool (DCS438)’ is characterized by powerful performance and rugged durability. Equipped with a high-performance brushless motor, it delivers a best-in-class 768W output and a no-load speed of up to 20,000 rpm, making it effective for long, sustained work. In addition, a motor air-cooling system maintains a consistent temperature so it does not overheat even under high current, reducing the load on the tool. With a 76 mm blade diameter and a maximum cutting depth of 22 mm, it also offers clean, precise cutting.

Ease of use and productivity have also been enhanced. In sensitive work environments, the blade rotation direction can be reset to control the direction in which sparks fly, and the detent guard can be quickly adjusted to suit the work environment for safer and more convenient job completion. It also allows fine cutting-depth adjustment and comes standard with a detachable dust cover and three dedicated blades (cutting stone, diamond blade, and multi-blade), making it useful for working on various base materials such as steel, tile, and marble.

▲The ‘20V MAX XR Brushless Impact Driver (DCF840)’ likewise boasts excellent performance and improved ease of use. Designed around an optimized impact mechanism, this product delivers outstanding performance with up to 192 Nm of maximum torque, a no-load speed of up to 3,200 rpm, and up to 4,200 bpm. In addition, durability has been reinforced through an improved bit holder and minimized blade wobble, while an improved 6.35 mm (1/4”) quick bit-change chuck and an anvil that accommodates double-ended bits further enhance ease of use.

Additionally, for field workers who frequently work outdoors for long hours, the company is introducing the ‘60V MAX 3.0Ah (20V MAX 9.0Ah) FLEXVOLT Premium Battery (DCB609G)’ and the ‘20V MAX 5.0Ah Lithium-Ion Battery (DCB184G).’ These batteries use GFN oil-resistant (nylon-based, high-performance glass-filled) housings to prevent damage to battery cells that can occur in environments easily exposed to oil, lubricants, and the like.

Festool Korea launches its ‘Legend 7’ product family and cuts prices

Festool Korea, a German premium power tool company, has launched the ‘Legend 7,’ a family of essential cordless tools for interior worksites, and lowered the prices of the nine relevant products effective April 1. Amid rising material and logistics costs that have led most tool brands to raise prices, Festool’s bold price cut has taken all market observers by surprise.

Festool’s tools are unquestionably superior to those of other brands in terms of work performance, such as powerful output and cutting quality, and they incorporate features such as kickback stop, vibration damping, and low-vibration design to protect users from injury—making them the ‘dream tools’ of interior worksite professionals. However, the market’s prevailing assessment was that their high prices were a barrier to purchase. Yet with this price-cut policy in place, at least for Festool’s Legend 7 products, the price gap with comparable cordless products from other popular premium tool brands is expected to narrow considerably.
