Chokwang Paint has unveiled its color of the year, the '2023 Color Mood,' under the theme 'CONNECTION.'

'Retro,' one of the most prominent trend keywords of late, first gained momentum from the popularity of drama series that recreated the 1990s, rising to a megatrend that is now being incorporated into a wide range of fields. Rather than simply reproducing past fads by summoning the old itself, 'retro' has evolved into new cultural movements such as 'youngtro,' 'hiptro,' and 'newtro' by adding a contemporary sensibility. In other words, past trends return reinterpreted with new meaning, and at times lead to entirely new trends. Retro may give the impression of chasing an 'old and outdated' fad, but it has become a powerful keyword of empathy that transcends every generation, serving as a link for communication.
