Folding Window Lineup Complete, Targeting Residential and Commercial Space Markets
Hybrid Structure Combining Wood and Aluminum Delivers Outstanding Functionality

As hanok windows and doors establish themselves as items for creating comfortable spaces in line with diverse consumer demands, Chumdan Hanok Changho (CEO Lee Won-yong), a company specializing in Korean-style system windows and doors, has completed its folding window lineup and is making a full-scale entry into the hanok remodeling market for residential and commercial spaces.
Whereas conventional hanok windows and doors centered on ventilation and daylighting between the interior and exterior through opening and closing, in recent years functional elements such as insulation, airtightness, soundproofing, and watertightness have combined with differentiated design, expanding the scope of application to encompass not only residential hanok but also commercial spaces.
Explaining the background of the launch, CEO Lee Won-yong said, "Targeting the hanok window and door market that had been dominated by PVC and aluminum folding windows, our aim is to expand the market and provide customer satisfaction through the premiumization of spaces and the high-performance enhancement of products."
The folding window features a hybrid structure combining wood and aluminum, providing even stronger support for the hanok trim line. With no sagging or warping caused by the building's load or moisture, it can be used semi-permanently. The insulation and airtightness performance of the windows, which bring comfort to daily life, are likewise excellent. Currently, the thermal transmittance of Chumdan Hanok Changho's products such as casement and sliding windows averages 1174–1212 W/㎡K, and airtightness ranges from 0.79 to 0.00 ㎥/h㎡, achieving Energy Consumption Efficiency Grade 1. In addition, they can be applied in 4-panel, 6-panel, and 8-panel configurations according to the purpose of the space in use, and can be installed up to a maximum height of 3.6 m. When folded, they enable complete separation of a space, and when opened, they secure views and provide a refreshing sense of openness. The airtight hinges and double gaskets not only reduce heating and cooling costs but also cut down on external noise.
CEO Lee Won-yong said, "Demand is on the rise, centered on residential hanok, hotels, and cafés. Product performance, together with the natural colors and textures inherent to wood, can make a space even more upscale. Through product design development, we will strive to secure a leading position in the hanok remodeling market."
Chumdan Hanok Changho's production facilities are optimized for government procurement projects as well as large-scale on-site deliveries. The automated systems of its production facilities—covering lamination, cutting, machining, assembly, and painting—enable mass production and consistent quality control.
Meanwhile, Chumdan Hanok Changho has supplied and installed folding windows at numerous sites, including the Boeun Hunminjeongeum Madang, Hyegyeonggung Bakery, Heungcheonsa Café, and Jongno hanok. Its quality is recognized through its supply of Korean-style system windows and doors to government procurement projects—such as the Suwon Paldal-gu Cultural Center, Banghak-dong Hanok Library, Seunggawon Hope Happiness Village, Yeongju Culture Theme Park, and Cheorwon Gungye Theme Park—as well as to major temples and hanok complexes nationwide.
