KRW 100 million donation delivered to help support vulnerable groups in Seocho-gu
To be used to help improve emotional stability and living conditions
KCC Glass (Chairman Chung Mong-ik) is joining forces with Seocho-gu to help vulnerable children and “young adults preparing for independence.”
KCC Glass announced that on December 26 it held a donation ceremony for the “2023 Hope Ondol Warm Winter” campaign at the Seocho-gu Office in Seoul, delivering KRW 100 million, with attendees including Dokgo Jin, an executive director at KCC Glass, and Jeon Seong-su, head of Seocho-gu, among other officials.
The donation delivered this time is part of the KRW 300 million that KCC Glass recently contributed to the Community Chest of Korea (Fruit of Love), and it will be used to help improve the emotional stability and living conditions of vulnerable children and young adults preparing for independence in Seocho-gu. In particular, KCC Glass plans to actively support young adults preparing for independence—whose care at child welfare facilities ends once they reach a certain age—so that they can settle into society in a stable manner.
A KCC Glass official said, “We understand that young adults preparing for independence are struggling to take their first steps into society, as evidenced by the recent string of tragic deaths among them,” adding, “We hope the donation KCC Glass has made this time will help neighbors like them who fall through the cracks of the welfare system, and going forward KCC Glass will continue not only to make donations but also to carry out social contribution activities such as improving living environments through ‘Homecc Interior.’”
Meanwhile, KCC Glass continues to strengthen its ESG management, having joined the ‘United Nations Global Compact (UNGC)’ and pursuing a variety of social contribution activities. Through these efforts, the company is delivering ESG results, earning a ‘Gold’ rating in the sustainability assessment by the global research firm ‘EcoVadis’ and the highest ‘AA’ rating in the ESG performance evaluation by ‘Sustinvest,’ a leading domestic ESG assessment agency.
