Praised for its design differentiation
The Noble Water Purifier series from Coway (co-CEOs Lee Hae-sun and Suh Jang-won), a best life solution company, has won the top prize, the ‘Best of Best,’ at the ‘2022 Pin Up Design Award.’
Hosted by the Korea Association of Industrial Designers and sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Pin Up Design Award is the most prestigious design competition in Korea, and along with the Good Design (GD) Award and the Korea Design Award, it is regarded as one of the country’s three major design awards.
In this competition, Coway had four products recognized for their design excellence, including the Noble Water Purifier series and the Icon Ice Water Purifier. In particular, the Noble Water Purifier series was praised for its premium design that enhances the beauty of a space and was selected for the top ‘Best of Best’ prize. With this, the Noble Water Purifier has now claimed four titles—following Germany’s iF, the U.S. IDEA, and Korea’s Good Design (GD) Award—demonstrating design competitiveness that spans both domestic and overseas markets.
The Noble Water Purifier series has drawn attention for breaking away from the typical water purifier shape and achieving differentiation in form (built-in/horizontal/vertical/RO), filters, and color configurations. Customers can choose the optimal product to suit a wide range of tastes—from kitchen interiors and installation space to filter type—greatly strengthening the customer experience and satisfaction.
The Icon Ice Water Purifier earned the main ‘Best 100’ award. It was highly rated for achieving the smallest size among domestic ice water purifiers to enhance space efficiency, and for simplifying complex visual elements. It also scored highly for its patented dual rapid ice-making technology, which delivers abundant and fast ice-making performance, and for reinforcing hygiene management with a UV sterilization system.
Song Hyun-joo, head of Coway’s Design Center, said, “We are presenting designs that carefully consider not only the aesthetic value of the product but also functional aspects that can improve ease of use,” adding, “Through innovative designs that blend into customers’ lives and inspire them, we will naturally convey Coway’s own premium value.”
