Improving the Treatment Environment for Children with Disabilities
Donation of Fursys, iloom, and SIDIZ Furniture
Fursys Group announced that it has donated a total of 100 million won worth of furniture to Seoul Metropolitan Children's Hospital to improve the treatment environment for children with disabilities. This donation was carried out as part of realizing Fursys Group's corporate social responsibility value of "enhancing the quality of life for more people through products and services that connect people and spaces," and it was intended to support children with disabilities and their guardians so that they can focus on treatment in a more comfortable and stable environment. Fursys Group delivered the furniture to Seoul Metropolitan Children's Hospital as an in-kind donation on July 10.
Seoul Metropolitan Children's Hospital, operated by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, is the only public hospital in Korea specializing in the rehabilitation of children with disabilities. This furniture donation focused primarily on the hospital's wards and development center. In particular, professional furniture combining both safety and functionality was selected in consideration of the special treatment environment for children with disabilities.
The donated furniture was selected to suit the characteristics of each major space within the hospital. Fursys sofas were placed in the waiting and rest areas for young patients and their guardians, iloom kids' furniture, bookcases, and tables were placed in treatment spaces, and SIDIZ chairs were placed in the work areas for medical staff and hospital employees, thereby enhancing the functionality and convenience of the hospital's spaces as a whole.
A Fursys Group official said, "Fursys Group believes in the power that space has on people's daily lives and recovery," adding, "We hope this donation helps change the children's treatment environment for the better." The official continued, "We will continue to carry out activities that realize social value based on our corporate expertise."
Nam Min, director of Seoul Metropolitan Children's Hospital, expressed his gratitude, saying, "Due to the nature of a public hospital, we faced difficulties in improving our facilities, but through this donation, children and their guardians can now receive treatment in a more comfortable environment, which has been a great help," adding, "We are sincerely grateful."
Meanwhile, Fursys Group has continuously devoted itself to various social contribution activities and support for vulnerable groups, including group blood drives with its employees and disaster recovery support for wildfires and other disasters. In particular, this donation is regarded as an especially meaningful case in that it contributed to society based on the company's unique professional capability of space solutions, and it is drawing attention as a practical example that clearly demonstrates Fursys Group's ESG management philosophy.
