LX Hausys to Sign Supply Contracts with Major Domestic Construction Firms in the First Half of the Year

Applied as a Surface Finishing Material for Furniture Such as Built-in Wardrobes and Shoe Cabinets

LX Hausys is beginning domestic supply of its 'Recycle Furniture Film,' made by recycling PET bottles, by delivering the product to a large-scale apartment complex being built by Doosan Engineering & Construction.

In connection with this, LX Hausys announced that it will supply its Recycle Furniture Film to 'Doosan We've the Zenith Ocean City,' a large-scale complex of 3,048 households that Doosan Engineering & Construction is developing in Nam-gu, Busan by the end of 2025.

In 2018, LX Hausys became the first in Korea to introduce a furniture film made from PET (polyethylene terephthalate) raw material produced by recycling plastic PET bottles. Since then, it has supplied the product exclusively to overseas markets, including furniture companies in Europe and North America, where recycled-material products are actively used.

Beginning with this supply contract with Doosan Engineering & Construction, LX Hausys plans to accelerate its push into the domestic market for recycled products, including finalizing additional supply contracts with several major domestic construction firms in the first half of this year.

Seeking to provide consumers with a more reassuring living space, Doosan Engineering & Construction has significantly expanded the application of eco-friendly products at Doosan We've the Zenith Ocean City, becoming the first domestic construction firm to apply LX Hausys' Recycle Furniture Film inside its apartments.

The product LX Hausys will supply is a Recycle Furniture Film in the 'DUAL PEARL' color design, which features a Powdery Pearl effect that produces a soft sheen in achromatic tones. The DUAL PEARL product will be widely applied to the surfaces of interior furniture such as built-in wardrobes and shoe cabinets at Doosan We've the Zenith Ocean City, and is expected to enhance the sophistication of the interior spaces.

Meanwhile, this supply of Recycle Furniture Film is expected to recycle approximately 1.2 million plastic PET bottles (based on 500㎖ bottles), and is thus seen as an active contribution to the national campaign to reduce single-use plastics.
