Himpel × ILVA partnership marks an aggressive push into the interior market

Home appliances and furniture share similar replacement cycles, raising expectations of synergy

Himpel, a company specializing in ventilation appliances, is strengthening its competitiveness in the interior business by joining hands with the Danish furniture brand ILVA.

As more consumers value hygiene and design as much as an appliance's functionality, the two companies are actively targeting the appliance-terior (appliance + interior) market, which has been in the spotlight since COVID-19, by putting customized products front and center. Because home appliances and furniture have similar replacement cycles, there is an advantage in that synergy can be achieved.

At the ILVA store (showroom) in Seocho-dong, ILVA furniture and Himpel ventilation appliances are displayed together, allowing customers to purchase products with consideration for space utilization, design, and functionality. The Himpel ventilation systems installed throughout the showroom provide round-the-clock ventilation, helping showroom visitors shop safely and comfortably.

Showroom visitors are given a voucher that allows them to purchase Himpel ventilation systems and bathroom ventilation appliances at a 10% discount. Scanning the QR code on the voucher connects to Himpel Mall, Himpel's official online store, so customers can purchase Himpel products at the discounted price on the spot.

A Himpel official said, "Himpel appliances and ILVA furniture can form the perfect harmony, combining functionality, interior design, and hygiene all at once," adding, "To further capture the interior market, we will continue to cooperate across various fields going forward."

Meanwhile, as the ventilation-interior market focused on improving indoor air quality expanded rapidly last year due to COVID-19, Himpel previously signed a business agreement with Park Moksu's Open Estimate, Korea's largest interior community site, and recently opened a store in the brand market of Anexmall, a Korean comprehensive furniture company, where it is running a bathroom ventilation appliance discount event for newlywed couples preparing for their wedding.
