'PLANITHERM' becomes 'ESLITE,' and 'COOL-LITE' becomes 'EVERLITE'

The Duolite logo drops the crown mark that had been placed at the top and is now composed of uppercase English letters

Hankuk Glass has changed the names of its coated glass brands as well as its Duolite and Securit logos. Its residential Low-E glass brand 'PLANITHERM' has been changed to 'ESLITE,' and its commercial Low-E glass brand has been changed from 'COOL-LITE' to 'EVERLITE.'

LITE, common to the new brands, means 'a single pane of window glass.' ESLITE takes ES, the first letters of Energy Saving, to form ES+LITE, representing 'energy-saving + glass,' while EVERLITE combines EVER, from Everlasting, with LITE to form EVER+LITE, meaning 'glass that sustains a comfortable indoor environment thanks to its high insulation and solar-shading performance.'

In addition, the new Duolite and Securit logos drop the crown mark that had been placed at the top and adopt a design composed solely of uppercase English letters, making a sharper impression and adding a trendy sensibility. Furthermore, the design connects the letters U and O, or C and U, to emphasize limitless growth potential and the connection between people and spaces.

A Hankuk Glass official said, "Amid a challenging industry environment, Hankuk Glass has continuously pursued change and taken on challenges, evolving from a flat glass manufacturer into an integrated solutions provider supplying glass-related products. With the recent decision to invest 130 billion won in facilities at the Gunsan plant and the change of brand names, we will do our utmost with a fresh mindset to create new value."
