Kitchen installation partner technicians' labor fees raised 15%, dedicated mentor system introduced
Expected to create jobs and enable rapid growth into installation experts
Hanssem Service (CEO Lee Seung-ho), a subsidiary of Hanssem Co., Ltd., has announced plans to raise installation labor fees for its kitchen installation partner technicians and to expand recruitment.
Recently, as installation workers nationwide have seen their workloads and incomes decline, more of them have been leaving the industry, making it difficult to deploy personnel to job sites in a timely manner and leading to longer construction periods. In response, Hanssem has proactively strengthened compensation for its installation partner technicians to secure top talent, and has drawn up a recruitment expansion plan to improve installation quality and customer satisfaction.
To boost the income of its installation partner technicians, Hanssem Service raised kitchen installation labor fees by 15% starting in March. As a result, a 10-year veteran installation partner technician who previously earned an average of 6 million won per month from kitchen installations can now earn around 7 million won. In addition, this recruitment expansion plan includes broadening the recruitment of new installation partner technicians, which is expected to have a job-creation effect. Recently, the interior industry has drawn attention as a career that can be pursued without a mandatory retirement age, and interest among the MZ generation in the installation profession has been growing. In fact, while about 17% of all applicants in 2021 were in their 20s, that share rose to 35% in 2024, reflecting a steady increase in the inflow of the MZ generation. To energize the recruitment of new installation partner technicians, Hanssem has introduced a "dedicated mentor system" to help "newcomers" taking on the installation profession adapt. Under this system, a dedicated mentor is assigned to each new installation partner technician after they join, providing training so they can systematically learn installation theory and techniques—lowering the burden on new entrants and encouraging a smoother transition.
Meanwhile, through Hanssem Service, the only specialized installation company in Korea, Hanssem provides installation services for a wide range of interior work, including kitchens, storage, bathrooms, and windows and doors. Since establishing the Hanssem Academy in 2021, it has trained more than 3,000 installation partner technicians to date and is known within the industry as an "installation academy."
