Drawing attention with an extensive array of differentiated energy solutions
LG Electronics has built ‘LG ThinQ Home’ in the Pangyo New Town in Gyeonggi Province, spanning a total floor area of approximately 500㎡ across three above-ground floors and one basement level. It was completed following a preparation period of roughly one year, from planning to land acquisition and construction.
In particular, this is the first case in which LG Electronics has implemented the LG ThinQ Home integrated solution—a convergence of innovative products such as TVs and home appliances, IoT space solutions, and differentiated energy solutions spanning generation, storage, and management—within a space where customers actually live. The LG ThinQ Home integrated solution helps customers fully focus on the value of everyday life by △using energy efficiently (Zero Energy), △with minimal effort (Zero Effort), and △without stress (Zero Stress).
▲Through the innovative products and solutions installed in LG ThinQ Home, LG Electronics presents three values that customers can experience in daily life: ‘peace of mind, convenience, and fun.’ △The smart entrance door recognizes visitors using facial recognition technology. The door lock handle features ultraviolet sterilization technology for hygiene. △The entrance serves as a clean zone that removes external contaminants, equipped with a mobile phone sterilizer, a Styler, an air purifier, and more.
△Smart mirrors installed throughout the home enable appliance control, real-time monitoring of the indoor environment, and management of the customer’s schedule. △LG Electronics has also created a home office space that brings together ergonomic design and innovative technology, including the 360 monitor and the gram laptop. It is a space optimized for the need to handle much of one’s work more conveniently at home, such as during remote work.
△LG Electronics also unveiled a ‘Smart Wall’ that allows the TV screen to be used flexibly according to the installation space or situation. In it, a 77-inch OLED TV normally remains hidden behind the wall, with only part of the lower portion of the screen exposed. △LG ThinQ Home also features future product concepts presented by LG Electronics, such as a body dryer in the bathroom, a dedicated kitchen ventilation system installed in the cooking area, and a food waste disposer and dishwasher installed inside the sink.

Certified as a zero-energy building, this structure boasts an energy self-sufficiency rate of 85%, the highest level among residential buildings in Korea.
LG Electronics has installed a ‘Building-Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV)’ system in LG ThinQ Home. A total of 988 modules—90×70㎝ and 90×35㎝ in size—were attached to the exterior walls and roof. Unlike conventional solar modules, these modules are installed in a way that replaces the exterior wall finish, so they do not detract from the building’s design or the surrounding landscape. The ‘Energy Storage System (ESS)’ stores generated power so that it can be used when customers need it. The parking area is equipped with an electric vehicle charging station featuring a Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) power supply system, further enhancing the utilization of the ESS.
In addition, the DC/AC hybrid distribution panel developed in-house by LG Electronics maximizes the efficiency of generating, storing, and using renewable energy. This distribution panel also enables the use of next-generation DC appliances that reduce the losses that occur during energy conversion. In particular, customers can also use a ‘Home Energy Management System (HEMS)’ that allows real-time management of energy generation, use, and storage status through the smart mirror in the home or a mobile device.
