Sets up its largest-ever booth and unveils more than 30 new interior stone and film products
Interior film 'Bodaq' draws attention with designs created exclusively for China
Hyundai L&C, a comprehensive building-materials company affiliated with Hyundai Department Store Group, is accelerating its push into the Chinese market by taking part in China's largest interior design materials exhibition.
Hyundai L&C announced that it participated in 'Guangzhou Design Week (广州设计周) 2023,' held this past March in Guangzhou, China. Launched in 2006 under the initiative of the Chinese government, Guangzhou Design Week is one of China's leading design materials exhibitions, drawing more than 1,000 companies. At this exhibition, in which the company participated for the third time, Hyundai L&C set up its Chinese subsidiary's largest-ever booth at 208㎡, preparing not only various samples of its core products such as interior stone and film but also accessories and spaces made with these materials, so that visitors could see how the products look when actually applied.
In particular, about 80 interior stone and film products were displayed at this exhibition, and more than 30 new products were unveiled. Among them, 'Kanstone' (marketed for export as Hanstone), an interior stone made from over 90% natural quartz, presented the 'Opimo Collection,' which reproduces the pattern of natural quartzite for the first time in the world. In addition to the product performance and advantages of 'Kanstone,' the 'Opimo Collection' features differentiated pattern designs and large dimensions thanks to the latest multi-compression equipment from Italy's Breton—adopted for the first time in the world. Furthermore, 'Bodaq,' an eco-friendly interior film used as a finishing material for furniture and other applications, drew a strong response from local customers with designs created exclusively for China.
Anticipating that demand for commercial spaces such as travel and food and beverage will grow in 2023 along with China's living-with-COVID policy, Hyundai L&C is focusing on expanding partnerships with major companies involved in commercial interior design for hotels, hospitals, and the like. To expand its sales network, the company is also positively considering participating in the 'Shanghai Design Week' to be held this June. In addition, it plans to strengthen the promotion of differentiated products such as eco-friendly items and China-exclusive patterns. Kim Wan-jung, head of Hyundai L&C's Chinese subsidiary (Executive Director), said, "We took part in Guangzhou Design Week as an opportunity to respond proactively to China's reopening," adding, "By strengthening cooperative relationships with major partners such as construction firms, design firms, and furniture makers, we will expand on-site supply contracts and actively pursue dealer development to boost our domestic sales in China by more than 15% compared to the previous year."
Meanwhile, this past January, Hyundai L&C presented key products from the 'Opimo Collection' at 'KBIS (The Kitchen & Bath Industry Show) 2023,' North America's largest kitchen and bath exhibition, where it received a strong response in the global market—so much so that most of the initial trial-production volume was delivered to major regions across the United States. At this exhibition, the company set up a standalone booth with an 'Art Theater' concept for appreciating works of art under the theme 'EARTH, the Art Created by Nature' (combining Earth, meaning the planet, and Art), drawing the attention of visitors. 080-729-8272
