The only Korean construction company to be honored
Fine-dust-reducing ‘Clean Zone’
Hyundai E&C has won a main award at the iF Design Awards 2021, one of the world’s three most prestigious design awards, for ‘The Clean Zone,’ a fine-dust-reduction product under its DH brand.
The iF Design Award is a world-renowned design competition held annually in Germany since 1953, and together with the ‘IDEA Design Award’ and the ‘Red Dot Award,’ it is regarded as one of the world’s three major design awards. The competition selects the finest design products through rigorous evaluation criteria including design innovation, user benefit and social responsibility.
Hyundai E&C earned the honor of being the only Korean construction company to receive a main award in this competition. ‘The Clean Zone’ has already won the ‘Architizer A+ Award’ in the United States, as well as Korea’s Good Design (GD) award and the Korea Color Award.
‘The Clean Zone’ is a product that combines an Air Washer with a Mist Cooling Fog system, and is a pollutant-reduction product specially designed for the COVID-19 situation. When installed, ‘The Clean Zone’ can effectively remove and sterilize pollutants remaining on the body before entering indoor spaces after outdoor activities. The clean air produced by the Air Washer removes fine dust remaining on shoes and clothing, while pollutants on the hands can be cleansed.
In particular, the Mist Cooling Fog system was highly praised not only for creating a pleasant surrounding environment and helping to effectively remove fine dust, but also for realizing a sophisticated design. Hyundai E&C plans to install ‘The Clean Zone’ at ‘DH Honor Hills,’ followed by ‘DH La Class,’ ‘DH Xii Gaepo’ and other projects.
