Hillstate ‘Arcus’ and ‘Triangle House’

Named ‘Gold Winner’ in the Spatial Design Category, With a Total of 7 Winning Works

Hyundai E&C announced that it received the Gold Winner award in the Spatial Design category at the ‘K-Design Award 2025’ for ‘Arcus,’ located at Hillstate Hwanho Park, and ‘Triangle House,’ located at Hillstate Sinyong The River. Hyundai E&C is the only company among all participants this year to capture two titles simultaneously in the spatial category.

Together with Taiwan’s ‘Golden Pin Design Award’ and Hong Kong’s ‘Design for Asia Award,’ the ‘K-Design Award’ is regarded as one of Asia’s three major design awards. To identify products with market competitiveness, the winning works were selected through rigorous evaluation by more than 37 authoritative judges from 10 countries. This year in particular, only 35 works were named Gold Winners out of some 3,000 entries from 23 countries. ‘Arcus,’ selected as a Gold Winner this time, is a two-story teahouse built at Hillstate Hwanho Park. As its name—meaning ‘a shape curved like a bow or a rainbow’—suggests, it applies an arched design to realize soft, curvilinear beauty and a sense of stability. In addition, the work earned recognition for its high level of completion, including the majestic atmosphere created by the elevated entrance set against a pond and rock garden and by its line lighting, as well as interior spaces where curved and arched elements harmonize with the furniture.

Another award-winning work, ‘TRIANGLE HOUSE,’ is a three-dimensional resting space located in the Central Park within the Hillstate Sinyong The River complex, achieving harmony by linking its design with the surrounding landscaping, including a triangular lawn plaza and a floor fountain. By applying a triangle-motif structure and an open design, it heightens originality and a sense of openness, while the triangular-pattern lighting on its front accentuates its sculptural beauty even at night, further enhancing the scenic value of the complex. In addition to these two works, five works—including teahouses, gardens, and interiors—were named Winners, bringing the total to 7 works on the list of awardees. Among them, ‘Jamitan’ realized a lyrical landscape through a wall fountain, seasonal plantings, and sculptural objets, while ‘House of THE H’ was recognized for the innovation and sustainability of its future-oriented residential model.
