KRW 15 million to Chungju Technical High School

Nurturing talent for the elevator industry

Hyundai Elevator has stepped up to nurture local talent by donating KRW 15 million to Chungju Technical High School as a school development fund.

Hyundai Elevator held the school development fund donation ceremony at its Chungju headquarters and presented the contribution to Chungju Technical High School. The event was attended by CEO Cho Jae-cheon along with Chungju Technical High School Principal Jang Young and other officials from both sides, who reaffirmed their commitment to nurturing talent for the elevator industry. The development fund delivered to Chungju Technical High School will be used for scholarships and other support for students who aspire to careers in the future elevator field. Hyundai Elevator's dedication to nurturing local talent is exceptional. Since last year, it has established and operated an industry-academia cooperation curriculum with Chungju Technical High School—the first of its kind in the elevator industry. Through this program, students who aspire to careers in the elevator field receive customized, hands-on practical training. Having produced its first 47 program graduates last year, the company plans to continue expanding the program.

Cho Jae-cheon, CEO of Hyundai Elevator, stated, "As a company representing the Chungju region, we plan to pursue various activities to nurture talent through mutual growth with the local community and cooperation in education," adding, "We hope to be of some small help in cultivating elevator specialists."

Meanwhile, Hyundai Elevator's scholarship contributions for nurturing talent are now in their 17th year. In particular, this past September the company delivered scholarships worth KRW 30 million to around 30 high-achieving students recommended by local governments such as eup, myeon, and dong units within the Chungju region. Through these efforts, a total of 318 young people had received scholarships by the end of last year.
