Some 20 new vendors and more than 3,000 new products broaden customers' choices
HomeCC, the interior specialty brand operated by KCC Glass (Chairman Chung Mong-ik), has carried out a large-scale expansion and renovation of its HomeCC Ulsan store located in Buk-gu, Ulsan Metropolitan City. With this, the HomeCC Ulsan store has been reborn as the largest interior and building-materials specialty store in the Yeongnam region.
The area added in this expansion of the HomeCC Ulsan store is roughly 1,157㎡, bringing the store's total floor area to approximately 4,628㎡. Through the expansion and renovation, a large number of new brands have moved in and a wide variety of interior materials and products have been newly stocked, greatly broadening the range of choices for customers. With some 20 new brands moving in, more than 3,000 products in line with the latest interior trends—including LED lighting, curtains, carpets and mattresses—have been added. In addition, a variety of bathroom showrooms have been added, while the door corner now features the recently popular slat-style sliding partition doors and automatic sliding partition doors. The window-and-door showroom has also been transformed into a new space, allowing customers to experience HomeCC windows and doors—a flagship product of KCC Glass—firsthand and receive detailed consultations.
The consultation corner and installation services have likewise been upgraded. Not only can customers comfortably receive interior and materials consultations at any time from the interior specialists stationed at the store, but those who purchase materials that are difficult to install themselves can also be connected to a range of installation contractors. Because customers can experience spaces fitted with interior goods and building materials firsthand and take care of purchasing, consultation and installation all at once through "one-stop shopping," a steady stream of consultation requests and inquiries from visitors has followed.
To mark this expanded renovation opening, the HomeCC Ulsan store is also running a variety of customer events through March 14. During the event period, gifts will be presented to the first 1,000 newly registered members, and customers who purchase 500,000 won or more will also receive coffee gift vouchers. The resident vendors have prepared diverse events as well. Office-furniture company "Chair Meister" is offering up to 30% off to celebrate its opening at the HomeCC Ulsan store, while power-tool company "Bosch" is running gift giveaways by purchase-amount tier. In addition, customers who purchase blinds, curtains, carpets or LED lighting can receive up to 7% off or gifts, depending on the purchase amount.
News of the renovation opening of the HomeCC Ulsan store—the largest in the Yeongnam region—has drawn keen interest from customers. On the first weekend after the renovation opening, visitor numbers rose about 44% from the previous week and sales more than doubled, making for a highly successful operation. In particular, with move-ins to the new Songjeong New Town recently wrapping up, visitors to the HomeCC Ulsan store have been increasing sharply, and amid the interior-decorating boom, visitors from nearby areas—not only Ulsan but also Gyeongju, Busan, Gimhae and Yangsan—have surged, sustaining double-digit annual sales growth every year since the store opened in 2016.
A HomeCC official said, "With people spending more time at home recently amid the fallout from COVID-19, interest in interior decorating is on the rise," adding, "In step with this trend, HomeCC will continue to showcase a wide range of products that meet the latest trends and, by leveraging the strengths of large specialty stores such as the HomeCC Ulsan and Incheon stores, will further cement its position as a hub store where customers can enjoy hands-on experiences and one-stop shopping."
Meanwhile, HomeCC earned the honor of winning the Best Brand of the Year category for the second consecutive year at last year's "2020 Korea Consumer Awards" ceremony. Organized by the Korea Consumer Association, the Korea Consumer Awards is an annual event held to discover companies and individuals that strive to advance consumer rights and interests and to enhance competitiveness, credibility and public benefit, and to evaluate and encourage the excellence and achievements of companies in each field.
In 2020, HomeCC was selected as an outstanding brand that has won broad support from consumers and made a deep impression on them. It was especially highly regarded for taking the lead in protecting consumer rights and interests in an interior market long marked by a significant information imbalance between sellers and consumers, and for providing a trustworthy total interior service by offering customer-tailored one-stop solutions—from standardized, process-based installation to worry-free A/S services.
HomeCC offers a lineup of some 200 brands and more than 30,000 interior materials across its stores nationwide, and operates large building-materials stores in Incheon and Ulsan as well as showroom-style display-and-sales outlets in major regions across the country. At HomeCC stores, customers can access a wide range of interior-related information and content and view and purchase interior products in person. Services such as paint color matching for DIY interior customers and cutting lumber to desired dimensions are also available. In addition, HomeCC provides interior consultations and on-site measurements for interior construction projects, home interior styling proposals, free estimates and more. 052-289-1700
