Educational Facility Environment Improvement Project
Creating Safe and Comfortable Learning Spaces
KCC Glass (CEO Chung Mong-ik) announced that it has opened the 8th location of ‘HOMECC Classroom,’ its environment improvement project for children's educational facilities, at the Changseongsa Community Child Center located in Jangan-gu, Suwon.
HOMECC Classroom is one of KCC Glass's flagship ‘business-linked’ social contribution projects. Drawing on the expertise of ‘HOMECC,’ its specialized interior brand, the project remodels aging children's educational facilities into new spaces. Notably, rather than stopping at simple facility improvements, it provides children who use these facilities with a variety of educational opportunities, drawing attention as a model for creating sustainable social value. Since 2022, KCC Glass has been carrying out environment improvement activities targeting children's educational facilities in major regions across the country, including Seoul, Gyeonggi, Busan, and Incheon. Recently, the company has been strengthening its activities in the Suwon area, centered on the ‘HOMECC Suwon Store.’ Following the opening of its 6th and 7th locations in Suwon last year, this year it selected the Changseongsa Community Child Center as its third case in the Suwon area and as the 8th location of HOMECC Classroom, supporting its renovation. This remodeling was carried out with a focus on enhancing safety and comfort, centered on the spaces mainly used by children, making use of a wide range of KCC Glass HOMECC's latest materials that consider energy efficiency and safety, including the high-insulation window ‘HOMECC Window ONE’ and ‘Vicente Interior Film,’ an interior film with flame-retardant properties. In addition, on the 5th, a mentoring education program was held for children who use the 8th HOMECC Classroom at the HOMECC Suwon Store, the largest specialized interior store in the Suwon area. Together with KCC Glass executives and staff, and under the guidance of a professional instructor, the participating children took part in a ‘glass art mood lamp making’ activity to nurture their creativity, and also spent time touring the HOMECC Suwon Store to broaden their understanding of interior design.
