Kumho Petrochemical's 'Flow' window handle features water-like flowing curves

Characterized by a sophisticated, ergonomically engineered design

Kumho Petrochemical announced that 'Flow,' a window handle from its building materials brand HUEGREEN, has won a Bronze Award at the '2023 Good Design (GD) Awards.'

Hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by the Korea Institute of Design Promotion, the Good Design Awards is a program that grants the government-certified GD (Good Design) mark to products with outstanding design following a fair evaluation. Held annually since 1985, it is Korea's most prestigious design award. This year, 1,176 products were submitted in the first round, of which 427 were selected as Good Design products, and a total of 80 of these were chosen as award winners.

HUEGREEN's 'Flow' handle, which achieved the remarkable feat of winning a Bronze Award after passing three rounds of screening in this year's awards, is a window handle product whose name means 'to flow.' Its distinctive soft, curved design reminiscent of a flowing stream was highly praised as a product that combines both aesthetics and convenience.

Inspired by the shape of the consumer's hand, the 'Flow' handle features a curved, sophisticated design that sets it apart from conventional straight, simple handles. Considering that consumers use it frequently in daily life, it boasts a refined appearance along with an ergonomic design for convenient use. The lever extending from the handle axis is designed with curves to create a lively feel, while the widened space between the window frame and the handle enhances convenience and safety when opening and closing the window. Optimized specifications were also applied to the grip circumference, corner shape, and other elements so that anyone, regardless of age or gender, can use it comfortably. In addition, a total of four colors and various specifications are offered as options so consumers can choose a product that suits their taste. With eco-friendliness in mind, the product also uses recyclable materials such as aluminum, zinc, PC plastic, and ABS plastic.

Heo Kwon-wook, head of Kumho Petrochemical's Building Materials Business Division, said, "Following the selection of HUEGREEN's 'Auto Ventilation Window Pro' as a Good Design product in 2021, the 'Flow' handle has now also won a Good Design Bronze Award, and our design excellence is being recognized externally," adding, "As a leading building materials brand, we will continue to focus on high quality and innovative design to enhance customer satisfaction."

Meanwhile, to celebrate the 'Flow' handle's Good Design Bronze Award, Kumho Petrochemical's HUEGREEN is carrying out a variety of marketing activities.
