KCC has unveiled its ‘Kitchen-Dedicated System Windows,’ which dramatically reduce window frame thickness to achieve a refreshingly open feel and a sophisticated design.
The ‘Kitchen-Dedicated System Windows’ are characterized by slimmer frames and a larger glass area that provide a refreshingly open feel. Sliding windows, the type commonly used in conventional kitchens, are small and have thick frames that split the field of view in the middle, creating a cramped feeling. In contrast, the new kitchen-dedicated system windows reduce frame thickness by around 60% compared with conventional sliding windows and position the handle and ventilation sash to one side of the window, minimizing the parts that obstruct the view.
In keeping with recent architectural trends that prioritize views and openness—so much so that there is a saying that a window has to feel open to sell well—the windows maximize this quality while also firmly securing insulation performance. The interior of the frame features a multi-chamber structure divided into several stages to interrupt the flow of heat, and the glass uses double low-E triple-pane glazing to deliver outstanding insulation performance on par with a zero-energy house.
The window’s own sophisticated design is another strength. The kitchen-dedicated system windows feature frames made of PVC, which offers excellent insulation, while the exterior is fitted with an aluminum cap that accentuates the building’s appearance and gives a premium look from the outside. In addition, the ventilation sash glass uses colored glass matched to each window color, adding a touch of luxury.
Beyond this, the ‘Kitchen-Dedicated System Windows’ offer everyday convenience, providing not only frame drainage and condensation discharge functions but also an internally fixed insect screen with a sloped drainage structure. The screen is removable, making it easy to repair or clean the mesh.
