KCC has joined hands with Graco to lead the market with a total solution that provides not only paint but also coating equipment.

Graco is a company specializing in the manufacture of coating equipment, headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, and operating more than 30,000 dealerships in over 100 countries worldwide. The total solution is a one-stop service that provides both KCC's polyurea paint for flooring/waterproofing materials and Graco's urea coating equipment together.

Through technical collaboration with the globally trusted Graco, KCC has improved its polyurea coatings (representative product name: Hyper Urea, etc.) to be optimized for the equipment, enhancing coating quality and reducing the likelihood of equipment failure, which has been well received. Accordingly, the company is reviewing the application of the total solution to various types of coatings going forward. The strategy is to build differentiated competitiveness by optimizing not only polyurea coatings but also coatings that require dedicated equipment for use with Graco equipment. In addition, in collaboration with Graco, KCC is enhancing the on-site response capabilities of its coating staff so that immediate action can be taken when a failure occurs — one of the most important customer needs identified in market research conducted before the introduction of the total service. In fact, KCC conducted an ‘Advanced Training on Polyurea Coating Equipment’ for around 40 of its coating staff to deepen their expertise in the equipment. Judging that the staff's expertise in the equipment and rapid on-site response capabilities are important competitive strengths for building trust in the market, KCC carried out coating equipment training again this year, following last year. Going forward, KCC plans to formalize Graco equipment training and strengthen its on-site response capabilities through systematic and continuous education.

Furthermore, KCC plans to actively promote the advantages and use cases of the total service so that it can be used as a means of increasing dealership sales. To date, the response from dealerships to the total service has been very positive. Dealerships that have conducted sales using the service — which provides equipment from a trustworthy global company along with coatings optimized for that equipment — have gained customer trust and seen positive effects such as increased sales.

Ham Seong-su, Executive Vice President and Head of KCC's Distribution Coatings Business Division, said, “Practical personnel who possess an understanding of both coatings and equipment at the same time are the key to enhancing the quality of customer service,” adding, “We expect that this training will further strengthen the technical support capabilities of the sales field.” 02-3480-5000
