KCC Glass has launched 'KCC Glass Soop Dodam 3.2/2.7,' a residential flooring well suited for homes with children and pets.
The name 'Soop Dodam' is derived from the Korean word 'dodam-dodam,' which describes a young child playing and growing up healthy and trouble-free. It carries the meaning of a safe flooring that both children and pet-owning families can use with peace of mind, offering not only anti-slip performance and an excellent underfoot feel but also safety from harmful substances. The product holds various eco-friendly product certifications, including the Environmental Mark, the HB Mark, and the Atopy Safe Mark.
In particular, 'Soop Dodam' is the first in the PVC flooring industry to obtain the 'Pet Product Safety Certification (PS Certification).' Pet product certification is a quality certification system in which the Korea Kennel Club and KOTITI Testing & Research Institute, a state-accredited testing agency, inspect product quality and recognize the excellence of pet products that pass the designated safety standards. By verifying safety suitability for pets, the product has secured its reliability. 'Soop Dodam' can be described as a safe flooring that goes beyond a space good for people to live in, creating a residential space where pets and people can live well together.
In addition, the Non-slip surface coating and high-resilience cushion layer of 'Soop Dodam' provide a safer and more comfortable underfoot feel and have the effect of absorbing the impact placed on the feet and joints when jumping and landing. When the floor surface is slippery or hard, as with hardwood flooring, marble, or polished tile, it can strain a pet's joints and cause joint diseases such as patellar dislocation, which can be fatal. That is why careful selection of flooring is important for households raising pets.
Being easy to clean and hygienic is another advantage. In the case of hardwood flooring, whose main material is wood, problems with rotting from pet urine and feces frequently occur. However, because of the characteristics of PVC sheet flooring, 'Soop Dodam' has few seams and gaps, so even if a pet has a toileting accident, it does not immediately seep into the gaps in the floor, and even contamination can be resolved simply by cleaning. Hinoki (cypress) oil is even added to the surface coating layer, providing a hygienic space for both pets and people.
The product comes in two thicknesses, 2.7㎜ and 3.2㎜, and its designs reflect consumer preferences and the latest trends, comprising a total of 18 design patterns—7 in the 2.7㎜ and 11 in the 3.2㎜. Synchronized embossing has been expanded to express patterns realistically. The wood patterns feature wide designs such as △Grand Oak White and △Grand Oak Brown; their broad, long dimensions convey the luxurious feel of solid wood flooring and a spacious, open sense of space. The marble and stone patterns draw the eye with five distinctive designs: △Tigre Marble White, △Eureka White, △Paradiso White, △Pietra Black, and △Crema Ivory. The marble and stone patterns are expected to be an attractive option for consumers who want a new kind of space, different from the familiar wood patterns.

Meanwhile, on September 9, KCC Glass signed a merger agreement with Korea Auto Glass (KAC).
